Up for sale is my much-loved 2015 Ford Transit L2H2, thoughtfully converted into a fully functional campervan by myself with help from trade professional friends. This is a solid, reliable van that’s ready for off-grid adventures, weekend escapes, or even full-time van life.

This van was converted by us, with help from friends experienced in trades and van conversions, creating a fully custom, practical, and comfortable campervan. Starting from a completely gutted interior, we soundproofed and insulated the walls and floor, installed full electrics, and added high-quality paneling before fitting out the interior. We went for a modern, fresh design that maximizes light and creates an open, airy feel, making the van feel spacious and welcoming. The layout features an L-shaped kitchen with plenty of counter space and a bench for extra seating, perfect for cooking, working, or socializing.
The custom, non-fixed bed slides out vertically to create a queen-sized sleeping area (193 cm x 167 cm) with a 7-inch memory foam mattress and cool gel layer, comfortably accommodating taller individuals (we’re 5’10” and 6’2”). When not in use, it retracts into a sofa, freeing up living space for relaxing or entertaining.
The van includes ample storage solutions, including overhead cupboards, under-bench storage, and under-bed compartments. It features a 12V LG fridge, a diesel heater that keeps the van extremely cosy in winter, and a ceiling fan for airflow during warmer weather. We’ve successfully completed two long-term trips in both winter and summer conditions. A solar panel supports the electrics for off-grid living, and we use a portable toilet for added convenience. A split charge relay ensures safe battery management, while all-terrain tyres improve handling, raise the profile, and enhance the rugged look of the van.
Every element of this conversion is designed with functionality, comfort, and style in mind, making it perfect for weekend getaways, long-term travel, or off-grid adventures. The modern design, clever layout, and versatile features create a campervan that is ready to hit the road immediately, combining freedom, comfort, and reliability in any season.
We customised the bed layout to suit our needs, as we’re both tall (5’10” and 6’2”) and found that most standard camper layouts just didn’t work for us. Unlike the typical horizontal fixed beds found in many vans, our bed is custom-built to slide out vertically along the length of the van, allowing for a much more spacious sleeping area and better use of space. When fully extended, it measures 193 cm long by 167 cm wide, similar to a queen size so even tall people can sleep comfortably.
The bed features a 7-inch-thick memory foam mattress with an added cool gel layer for enhanced comfort and temperature control. When not in use, it easily slides back to form a comfortable sofa, opening up the living area for cooking, relaxing, or hanging out. The design extends slightly over the kitchen bench, making clever use of space while keeping the van open, functional, and comfortable.
This setup has been one of our favourite features. It’s sturdy, easy to use, and makes the van feel much bigger and more versatile than standard layouts.
