Meet Freyja – the beautiful and freshly converted luxury micro-camper! Freyja is perfect for the adventurous couple/single looking to escape for extraordinary adventures in style and comfort, while maintaining the ease and practicality of travelling in something barely larger than a car! Easy to park, economic to drive and subtle when a little camper stealth is required. Perhaps you live in a city apartment, have always wanted a camper but they are too tall for the multi story/underground car park of your building? Well worry not because Freyja will fit right in! Every inch of her glorious interior was designed and handcrafted by my partner (an experienced boatbuilder/fitter and joiner) and myself with every effort given to squeeze in as many storage solutions, comfort features and practical appliances as possible within a tiny space.

Mechanical
As you may already be able to tell, Freyja is an ex-British gas work van. This means she has had regular servicing every few thousand miles since leaving the factory in 2011. She’s powered by an economical 1.6l TDI engine which we have also had professionally RE-MAPPED increasing the BHP from 102 to 140, and giving increased torque, meaning despite her campervan interior she has no issues at all climbing hills or inclines on the motorway in the higher gears; so you can stay out of the slow lane with all the big motorhomes swaying in the crosswinds! Below is a breakdown of all mechanical and service history we possess for the van – if it’s on this list, we have the paperwork to prove it!

Interior
Freyja possesses a stunning, bespoke, handcrafted interior featuring Scottish elm (a beautiful British timber but light weight as far as hardwoods go) and a custom machined tongue and groove beech ceiling. All her walls, cabinets and bed base are constructed from high-quality ultralight poplar plywood to keep the weight down. Behind all of this she is thoroughly insulated (floor, walls and ceiling); a mixture of recycled plastic wool, foil backed foam board and spray insulation foam for the tiny awkward crevices. To top it all off a layer of reflective, waterproof thermawrap covers the lot, sealed around all edges and joints with foil insulation tape creating an effective vapour barrier. 2 LED downlights and a recessed LED strip light provide light in the evenings while 2 USB ports and a 12v socket fulfil all your charging needs. Kitchen appliances include a Dometic 2 burner hob and oven aswell as a 39l Vitrifrigo compressor fridge with freezer compartment. Other campers will be stunned with disbelief when you walk out of your tiny camper bearing freshly baked cakes, roast dinners or ice lollies for those hot summer days before begging to have a look inside your amazing Tardis van! The natural appearance of the fabric on the professionally upholstered foam cushions complements the rattan door panels and is wipeable for fast cleaning and easily removable for more thorough washing while providing a comfortable sleeping platform.

Electrical
Freyja carries a Banner 110AH deep cycle leisure battery charged by the engine and 115W Victron solar panel through a C-TEK D250SE DC/DC charger combined MPPT controller. She also has a 240V mains hook up socket and lead which when plugged in also charges the leisure battery via a Victron AC/DC charger, as well as providing power to a single 240V socket inside the van so you can run domestic appliances such as hairdryers, irons etc.

Gas and Water
While designing Freyja the decision was made to remove the undermounted spare wheel so we could fit a 57l fresh water tank beneath the van, this provides enough water for 2 people to last for up to 4/5days if used frugally for cooking, washing up and teeth brushing via the Surflo electric water pump. In place of the spare wheel Freyja will be supplied with a 12v compressor and puncture repair kit, allowing you to fix a puncture at the roadside without removing the wheel, before being able to make your way to a garage for replacement tyre. This is a system a lot of new cars now utilise rather than being supplied with a spare wheel. We do still have the spare wheel which will be provided with the sale. The round sink drains into a 24l rolling waste water container which is easy to access and remove for emptying and cleaning.
The custom built gas locker is big enough to house a 6kg propane cylinder. It is sealed, vented and safe – we have a ‘gas engineer provided’ Landlord’s Gas Safety Certificate to prove it!

Upon completion of this fitout we have taken Freyja on a 3 week adventure all over the UK, from London to North West Scotland, down to Cornwall and Lands End and along the south coast. Throughout all of this she performed impeccably without a single issue mechanically or within the camper so we know she works! Discounting those 3 weeks every appliance, every fitting and every bit of high-tech kit in this van is BRAND NEW and still within warranty, and all manuals will be provided with the sale of Freyja. We have even repainted the walls, re oiled the woodwork and added a few extra bits after returning so you can really get a tried and tested but still gleaming fresh, immaculate adventure wagon!

Final Notes
While Freyja goes above and beyond in everything a camper should be, she is, after all, still a rather petite madam. My partner and I were very comfortable living in her continuously for 3 weeks, however, my other half is 5’10” and while this may break some hearts, unfortunately this is the absolute limit we would say you can be and still have a comfortable nights sleep, unless you like to be curled up into a ball!
Freyja’s body work is near impeccable, but if you look closely enough you will find tiny imperfections such as a handful of miniscule paint chips on the bonnet and a small dink in the rear plastic bumper.
The cab interior is in as good condition as the exterior and will be professionally valeted before any viewings. It features a still great sounding stereo system, A/C, electric windows and mirrors and 2 more 12v sockets as well as the ones in the rear living area.
A van as dainty as this is fairly difficult to photograph in a way that really does the interior woodwork justice (believe me those live edge elm countertops are beyond stunning!) so we strongly recommend and welcome in person viewings so you can appreciate her for yourself.
