Vehicle Description

This is Lesley Beertrice (Big Lez for short), who started her life as a Beer delivery van for England Worthside Limited in 2006.
During this time she was driven lots and lots, and any work needed was done straight away, with regular services carried out by the company, and there is full service history from this period.
She did most of her mileage in this period. I have owned the van for 2 years and only done 8-9k miles.

She went on to be converted by her first ‘van life’ owner to a basic conversion, and lovingly lived in for a few years, with his partner and 2 dogs.
She was then sold to a woman who used her intermittently for short trips/holidays, and then on to me in April 2021.
Since I have owned her I have paid professionals to do all the upgrades and improvements that I’ve chosen and continually improved her during our 2 years together, 1 of which I lived in her full time.

The van is a 2.4L Diesel Manual van with a 5 speed gearbox.
You do not need any special driving license to own and drive her.
I am 28 with 6 points and insurance was ยฃ70 a month with Adrian Flux.

The van is currently at 203,739 miles, with 12 months remaining on the MOT (until 9th April 2025).
She drives and feels like a sturdy and indestructible trusty steed.
Central locking fob so you can lock from the inside at night.
The platform in the garage space is for a bike and can be removed by unscrewing 4 screws if you’d rather have the space.

The vans features are:
Double fixed bed
2 x Solar Panels
4 LED spotlights in the ceiling wired in couples. (So you can have front 2 on, back 2 on, or all 4)
Power Inverter
2 x dual plug sockets
2 x 110 amp leisure batteries
Fresh and grey water tank
Sink and tap
Water pump
Fixed Double Bed
3 under seat cupboards and 2 over cabin cupboards
7 drawers and 2 kitchen cupboard spaces
9 cupboards next to the bed
Huge under-bed ‘garage’ storage
Platform to have a bike on in the garage area – this is very simply removed by undoing 4 screws if you’d rather have the garage space.
Hinged ladder
Sony Head Unit with CD, radio, and aux
Diesel Heater (needs installing as old heater stopped working and has been removed).

Mechanically, since I have had her in April 2022, she has had:
Oil and filter change 2022
All necessary welding done in April 2022 (no welding advisories on the 2023 MOT at all)
New brake pipes
New handbrake cable
4 new tyres June 2023
Leaf spring replacement
New back door locks
Thermostat replacement

The van comes with a whole folder full of paperwork, this is definitely ‘part’ service history as the van is 16 years old and certainly does not come with everything.
She was very well looked after by the company who owned her initially before she was sold, and has full Service History from 2006-2013, it is then patchy from 2013-2020 (some paperwork but not all), and all paperwork since I’ve owned her.

We have travelled thousands of miles together, all over England. Once she drove from Plymouth to the Lake District in one day, and another time she drove from Nottingham to Cornwall on less than half a tank of fuel. She has never ever broken down while I’ve owned her or had any warning lights on.

Her fuel economy is absolutely fantastic on long journeys.
She drives great and is truly enjoyable to travel around in. I’d only had cars before her, she was my first van, so it took a couple of weeks to feel confident in the van as it is a XLWB, however now I find she’s easier to drive than a car, and you can still park in normal car parks, the end of the van just pokes out from the car parking space.

Bodywork is not amazing, has a medium sized scrape, a few small areas of rust (only affects the van cosmetically, not structurally, and most have been treated with rust paint), and chips and mini marks on the outside.
A previous owner has spray painted the back offside corner of the van to cover an art piece. The paint is the same colour as the van paint, but you can still notice it when the van is clean. (see photos)

There is a -SLIGHT- oil leak caused by the thread for the bung on the sump being worn. (The plastic plug that screws in to the metal tank is worn so its no longer liquid-tight)
Unfortunately you cant just buy the bung, you have to buy the whole sump. The part is only ยฃ35, the labour makes the repair ยฃ300.
It is a very minor leak, drips very slowly, is not a complex mechanical problem or dangerous mystery issue. It is just the plastic bung/plug that is worn out.
I only needed to top up a little oil once every few months.
The repair is ยฃ300 and this is *already reflected in the price of the van*.

She smells woody on the inside, and always felt welcoming and safe to return to after a long day exploring and adventuring. I am only selling her as I am starting my dream business, so her sale is for the progress of my life journey and dreams!

All art and bits and pieces that decorate the van (such as little shells, the geometric piece attached to the wall, the teardrop mountain painting) can very very very easily be removed for your own touches to be added.

Please dont come expecting a perfect instagram van. This is a 17 year old Ford Transit that has been VERY loved and looked after. She has plenty of character and is so loveable.
The only reason for sale is the starting of a business that needs capital for its best chance at success. Otherwise I’d keep her forever!

Conversion Description

The van is a culmination of 3 owners who have each added their own touches and features during their ownership.

The initial structure of the conversion was created by the first owner after she was a working van.

All work since I have owned the van has been done by professionals; a professional joiner for woodwork improvements, such as the drawers, the cupboards over the bulkhead, the cupboards by the side of the bed, and shelves inside the ‘kitchen’ cupboards.
I also paid for the installation of the inverter, the spotlights in the roof, and the plug sockets. This was completed by a professional conversions company in my local area, Bus Bay Conversions, meaning the electrics are safe and professionally done.

There is wiring for a fridge into the electrical panel, as a previous owner had a fridge, but I personally didn’t feel enough of a need for one, and chose to spend my money on the improvements listed instead.

– Double fixed bed
– 2 x 110amp leisure batteries
– 2 solar panels
– 12v to 240v inverter
– 2 x 240v plug sockets
– 4 USB ports
– Split charger, so the leisure batteries charge from the alternator while driving, as well as from the solar panels
– Water pump, fresh & waste water tanks, sink, tap
– 4x spotlights, wired in pairs to 2 switches. This means you can switch on the front 2, the back 2, or all 4, depending on how much light you need
– Window installed in the sliding door
– Skylight with bug screen and blackout screen
– Diesel heater (new one is in a box in the van ready to be installed as the old one broke in the summer)
– SONY head unit with aux, CD, and radio
– Electric windows
– Central locking
– Window added in the sliding door

LOADS of storage:
– 2 x cupboards above the bulkhead
– 9 cupboards beside the bed
– 4 under seat cupboards (one of these spaces houses the electrics, 3 are spare and empty)
– 5 drawers
– 3 ‘kitchen’ cupboards
– Ample garage space under the bed that can be accessed from inside the van too
– The ladder underneath the bed is on hinges and swings out to access the storage from the back, and can also very easily be removed.

-Under the bed there is a small side compartment that I used for camping chairs/tables and hiking gear, this can be accessed from the back of the van or from the under-bed door on the inside of the van, and has sliding doors separating it from the rest of the garage space
Camping gear can be included in the sale at no extra cost if you would like it.

– Base to store and support your bicycle without wasting space, with a support for your pedal to drop into to prevent the bike from sliding around while you drive. This is only screwed in and can easily be removed if you so desired.

Priced for quick sale, if you compare her to other vans on this site at the same price she truly is a bargain. I would love you to come and see her and love her like I did. She has been conducive to so much transformation for me, and I have loved being her owner and enjoying the many fruits of van life. If you’re looking at this as a first van, I couldn’t recommend it enough.

She is the culmination of 3 owners, lots of love, lots of learning, and has her own little characteristics, and is also 16 years old. Please don’t come expecting perfection. Come expecting a van that has been very loved, will be missed, a van you can put your own personality into as I have, and enjoy travelling and enjoying cups of tea on the sofa with the side door open looking at the view, or in bed with the back doors open and the sea right in front of you.

Her next owner is out there, seeking her right now, so if you feel to email me, text me, or call me about her, please do. She could be yours!
