The Renault Master MK11s are one of the best kept secrets in the van world as they are galvanised and the engines will regularly exceed 300k. The camper design also ticks a lot of boxes and was built by myself (a pro builder) with serious functionality and multi-purpose requirements in mind for myself.
It’s a secure off-grid camper with garage/mobile workshop space — perfect for the adventurous, the handy or the outdoor pursuiters. Also good choice for full time living due to height inside and huge storage capacity!
Low mileage with a brand new 12 months MOT, this is an excellent example of the hugely robust Renault Master MKII with an extra high roof. Ex-Shimano Mobile workshop so it was owned for most of its life by Shimano and supported Professional Cycling Tours. They fitted the twin security locks on the rear doors and resprayed it blue. There are also many service stamps in the service book (I’d say it has approx 12 years of stamped servicing).
I had it remapped to 150bhp in October 2025 and had the cambelt changed in November 2025. Returns 32mpg.
Tyres all good. Gearbox and clutch healthy.
I bought the base van in September 2025 to convert into an off-grid camper/mobile workshop hybrid so it runs heavy power tools off-grid or via mains power from the rear garage, which is large enough to transport bikes and tools.
This is a super reliable rust free van, underneath and the engine bay is very clean – I have complete confidence it will get you to India and back. I’m using it a little for local trips so mileage will creep up a little.
Hello and welcome to the listing of my blue Shimano off-grid camper with large garage/workshop space — it offers something extra as well as being a 3-berth off-grid camper, it can also serve as a mobile workshop and the garage space is large enough to carry and transport bigger items. It has been built with security in mind (if carrying tools or bicycles) so the bulkhead has been left in to prevent entry to the rear via the cab, plus the garage area is completely cut off from the living space so can only be accessed from the back doors which have security locks.
The headroom in the rear of the camper is a lofty 207cm *(6ft 10in), meaning its the perfect van to have a raised rear bed (hence the much bigger garage/workshop space).
Kitchen: The camper is hand-built throughout consisting of a 1.6m long kitchen area containing a deep stainless steel sink, two-ring gas domino hob and ample space for food prep. Two large cupboard spaces underneath alongside a large 80l Waeco compressor fridge to keep the food cold. There is a large 55litre fresh water supply in the garage powered by a Shurflo water pump to provide cold water to the sink/tap.
Insulation: The camper has been triple insulated with two different types of insulation and finished with spruce cladding on the walls. The floor is wood effect vinyl built onto 18mm OSB board on top of insulation. And the ceiling is 12mm blackened plyboard finished with the vertical baton finish.
Storage: There are three huge lockers above head height, plus a few shelves for books etc within the central pillar area, a hanging rail under these shelves for clothes, plus more storage above the cab and in the garage. Also, the bench seats provide even more storage and a mobile Portaloo (brand new and never used) can be found under the longer bench.
Energy: The camper has a full main hook up system in place (installed by Shimano) which provides power to 3-4 twin sockets via a RCD box – 1 of these sockets runs from the garage.
Off-grid the camper is impressive and boasts a 280a/h Fogstar Lithium battery and 2000w Renogy inverter plus a 420w solar panel on the roof. The set up is tried and tested in the darkest winter months of Jan 2026 and I have not seen the battery fall below 70% capacity even after running power tools, fridge on 24 hours a day, charging laptops etc.
Seating area: consisting of two benches with a solid redwood table top (removable to make up a single bed for extra sleeping.

Garage area measures 132cm (depth) x 107cm (high) x 85cm (wide – not including storage shelves)
Bodywork would benefit from a good buffering as some of the old Shimano / bicycle sponsorship can still be seen where the decals were stuck on previously – but bodywork is good otherwise and there’s no rust or corrosion anywhere. The secure locks on the rear doors could do with a bit of grease service as key sometimes need a wiggle to release and there’s a crack on rear light, but that’s all the imperfections and everything else is excellent condition.
There’s a frame on the roof that used to host a pull out awning/canvas when it was a mobile workshop. It would be easy to reattach some clips/pull out canvas for a awning type vibe again.
History/Location/Why I’m Selling:
I was a professional camper van convertor for 7 years, building campers from a small workshop in Cornwall. I gave up my workshop last October (2025) and this was the base van I chose and converted for myself — my thinking was I’d have an off-grid camper that could also serve as a mobile workshop so I could still build campers for people, but I have now decided to change direction and am giving up building vans, plus I’ve no room to park this camper at my new home, hence the sale. It’s a great truck and was perfect for my requirements until my requirements changed!

Raised small double bed (179cm length x 130cm wide) in the rear, plus bench seating area converts into single bed approx 6ft 2in.
*The raised double bed could be lowered with some work which would lengthen it to approx 6ft 2in, but this would decrease the garage space underneath so up to the buyer what they deems as most important.
