My wife and I spent 10 months (Mar-Dec 23) travelling around Europe in Bluey. We bought the van in early 2023 from a couple who converted in 2022. As it was going to be our home for 10 months, before we set off we took it to the garage for a proper overhaul. We also added a few extras such as the awning, external detachable hot shower, 3x Locks 4 Vans security (sliding door hook lock, backdoors hock lock, drivers door slam lock), Cobra 8510 Thatcham Category 2 immobiliser, a new set of remote keys and a reversing camera.
The list below are the works done by the garage before our trip:
– Strip and replace all 4 injector seals and replace rocker cover gasket
– Replace brake pipes, brake master cylinder and both rear disc brakes
– Replace both rear wheel bearings
– Replace both power steering pipes
– Full service
– 4x New all weather tyres
– Replace engine water pump (replaced in France)
– Welded repairs: 4 new wheel arches and sprayed + bumper painted black (Jan 2024)
This is an off-grid and high powered van, suitable to work from whilst on the road with a powerful 300Ah leisure battery set up, with 400W of Solar. There are two table spaces which are great as work / dining areas, a kitchen with an induction hob (no gas) and a short fixed double bed with bike storage.
