Citroën Relay 2.8 diesel converted for use as a kart/race/hobby van with sleeping and camping facilities.
We’ve used it for karting with my son over the last year and it has been a genuinely useful setup, allowing us to carry the kart and equipment in the rear while still having a proper sleeping/camping area up front.
Selling simply because we’re consolidating vehicles and moving to an SUV and trailer setup, so the van will no longer be required.

Rear garage
There is a separate full-width garage area at the rear.
We have used this to carry a full-size kart along with associated tools and equipment, keeping the kart separate from the sleeping area.
There is also storage for the integrated table and a dedicated section for the awning poles.
Also included is a full-size wind-out Fiamma awning with side panels, which creates a very useful covered working or camping area alongside the van.

It starts easily, drives well and cruises comfortably at motorway speeds.

The van is currently registered with DVLA as a van rather than as a motor caravan. A future owner may wish to investigate whether it meets the requirements for reclassification and whether that would have any effect on their own insurance arrangements, but I obviously cannot guarantee eligibility or insurance savings.

MOT and recent work
The van has now been professionally inspected and I have recently authorised approximately £1,300 of work to address the current MOT failure items and prepare it for a fresh Class 7 MOT.
The work booked includes:
* Structural welding around the rear suspension mounting area
* Exhaust repair
* Offside front CV boot
* Headlamp faults
* New offside rear tyre
* Fresh Class 7 MOT
The van work is ongoing and assuming everything goes to plan, I expect to have it back on 28 August with the work completed and a new 12-month MOT.
I could have sold the van more cheaply as a project with the work outstanding, that didn’t feel right so I’ve chosen to have the main issues professionally dealt with first so the next owner can buy it in a much more usable condition.
As you would expect with an older working van, it isn’t cosmetically perfect and it has had welding repairs during its life. The recent MOT identified corrosion around the offside rear suspension mounting area, together with an exhaust leak, CV boot and headlamp-related faults — all of which form part of the work now authorised.
The full MOT history is publicly available online and I’m happy for buyers to look through it. I’d rather be completely open about its history while also making clear that the current failure items are being addressed before sale.

Availability
Assuming the repairs and MOT are completed as planned, viewings should be possible from the weekend of 29/30 August onwards.
I still require the van for a karting weekend on 5/6 September, so collection will need to be after that weekend.
Once the repairs are completed and it has its fresh MOT, the selling price will be fixed
At that point the price will be non-negotiable.
Given the conversion equipment, rear kart garage, Fiamma awning, diesel heater, solar setup and approximately £1,300 being spent on the current repairs and MOT, I believe it represents a fair price.
