2014 Citroën Relay
I bought this van back in 2022 from a couple who had just spent two years living out of it in the french alps full-time before deciding to move there permanently. They were in the process of building it when the pandemic struck and so they had a lot of unexpected extra time to pay attention to the details. It’s extremely well insulated and rattle-free. There are thoughtful touches everywhere throughout the living space. I had been looking for a van for a long time and nothing I saw came close to the quality of this build.
I’ve unfortunately not been able to put it good use as professional obligations have unexpectedly gotten in the way. My loss your gain!
The van layout was designed to fit facilitate outdoor hobbies while also creating a functional living and working space. The layout consists of five primary areas: Cab, Lounge, Kitchen, Bedroom and Garage:

The electrical system
Electrical system:
– 3x130W solar panels
– 2x120Ah lithium batteries still under warranty
– Victron Battery to battery charger. Charges the lithium batteries when driving.
– 1000 Watt DC/AC Inverter for when you have something that isn’t USB-A or USB-C
– Victron MPPT solar regulator.
– Victron Bluetooth BMV (Battery monitoring system)
– Roof mounted 4G WIFI booster antenna
– 12v Huawei WiFi hotspot
– All built by a trained electrician. Runs itself.
Safety:
– 2x fire extinguishers
– Carbon monoxide alarm
– Smoke alarm
– Security alarm
– Deadbolt on rear doors for added security
Exterior:
– All season Michelin Cross Climate tires
Other Notes:
The van is an L3H3, meaning it’s the tallest version of this van (I’m 6’3″ and I have plenty of headroom) and the second longest version. It’s about the biggest you’d want it to be while still being fairly easy to learn how to drive, park etc (the mirrors and reversing camera and key for this!).
The van has an expired Gas safe certificate which needs to be renewed.
The oil pan likely needs to be replaced (not an expensive job).
The rear doors require you to lean into it a bit to align the lock. Not a big deal.
Battery was replaced about a year ago.
Parking brake replaced last August.
Fully laden people, dog, water, food and equipment the van weighed in at 3400kg – below the legal limit for a normal Class B UK License.
It’s been a difficult to decide to finally let this van go. Hoping to find the right person or couple who can get this van out adventuring where it belongs! Happy to answer any questions, arrange a viewing, etc.
