Renting:
Converted when living in London, we rented Juan out with Quirky Campers for 3 years to great effect. We made more than enough money to cover running costs, as well as interim services and MOTs, with left over for upgrades (solar panels).
Driving:
5 speed
2.5 litre turbo diesel – cruises at 70 on the motorway no problem
Long range, 80 L fuel tank
The permanent high top will prevent you going into some tunnels / car parks, but it more than makes up for it in comfort and convenience
At 1.8m wide, he’s pretty average width, so very drivable in built-up areas.
Exterior:
Juan’s paint is sun faded on the left hand side. We had it in our minds to paint him, but in the end we came to see it as part of his charm!
We’ve since replaced the rusty fuel cap and refurbished one of the wheel arches.
Interior:
A mix of bespoke birch face ply cabinets and cork
Living:
All the windows have roll-down blinds that both look great and keep the light out
He has a table attached to the bedside storage that folds away
Charging:
Solar panels (120w total), with Victron SmartSolar MPPT 75/10
+ Split Charge Relay
+ Inverter (max 300w)
+ USB charging ports
Cooking & Cleaning:
50L Dometic CRX50 minifridge with freezer compartment
20L fresh water tank, with electric tap and porcelain sink
Vintage 2 hob gas burner with grill w/ recent safety inspection.
L-shaped bench with custom-made pads slides out into a double bed
We designing the bed to ‘hover’ so you can still use the entirety of the under bed storage all of the time.
Bedding is stored in ample bedside storage
1.84m x 1.3m
Juan started life as a standard height plumbers van. We had Colebrook Transporters add the permanent high top on and built the rest ourselves.
The birch face plywood cabinets are built to match Juan’s curves, whilst maximising storage space. The electronics are simple to install / modify, whilst providing all the functionality you need.
We’ve never felt we didn’t have enough room or features, even when we did a loop of France in him over the summer.

We have asked sellers to provide evidence of certificates and paperwork however you MUST check yourself that the information provided is present and correct.
