This van was lovingly converted in 2020. The second row of seats and bulkhead have been removed and the panel van stripped back to its shell. The self-build conversion was undertaken carefully, with long road-trips in mind. The build included instillation of full insulation (floor, panels and roof) and a complete vapour barrier. Photos documenting the conversion process can be supplied.

The interior is predominantly built from wood including a large kitchen with mini-fridge (operating on 12v and 240v electrics), sink containing plumbed-in electrically operated tap (cold water only) and tank for grey water. Cooking is via a quality CADAC 2 burner gas stove which is not built-in to the van, therefore gas safety certificate is not required. The portable nature of this gas stove means that you can cook in the van or outside the van, with the flexibility to store the stove in the purpose-built cupboard, freeing up worktop space.

One large padded seat unfolds to create a small double bed (dimensions 112cm by 174cm). Full electrical set-up including leisure battery (Platinum Plus AGM, 100 AH), 12v split charge, 240v hook-up, inverter and sockets providing 12v, USB and 240v three pin power. Solar panel installed (100W) which charges the leisure battery and trickle charges vehicle starter battery allowing off-grid usage. Battery monitor and carbon monoxide alarm fitted. Quality electrical components used throughout from CTEK and Victron.

The interior has been designed with usability in mind and features ample storage within the kitchen, under the seating/beds and in built-in cupboards behind the driver and passenger seats. A fiamma roof vent with electric fan is fitted for ventilation. All woodwork has been painted, with additional wallpaper, vinyl flooring, wood effect ceiling and stick-on tiling used to give a homely finish. All windows in the living space are tinted and fitted with curtains. This van is sold ‘as-seen’ in the accompanying pictures, containing everything required to drive away and use immediately. That includes:

This van has been converted and used with care using quality materials. She has proved to be a versatile, comfortable and incredibly dependable and reliable van. Two people spent four months ‘living’ in this van on a major road trip through Europe and The Caucasus. The conversion provided a very comfortable living environment for that period with excellent storage and amenities. The sale is a very reluctant decision due to a change in circumstances resulting in a house move and lack of storage for this van. The van is currently named ‘Suzie-Jane’ but would be open-minded about a change of name or gender!

The vechicle is currently in Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe near Thirsk. Viewings and accompanied test drives are very welcome. To test drive the vehicle you must purchase temporary insurance providing fully comprehensive coverage from a provider such as ‘Tempcover’. Sorry but third party coverage provided as part of ‘driving other vehicles’ on your existing policy won’t be accepted.
