Conversion Description

Beautiful, fully off grid, no expense spared conversion.

The build is tried and tested for off grid living. We lived full time in this van for almost two years travelling around Europe. During this whole time we did not need to plug in to shore power once.

It has been extremely well insulated to help keep it nice and cool during the summer months and toasty warm during the winter.

We decided to install two Maxxair fans at either end of the vehicle. You can select the direction of rotation meaning that you can have one extracting air out of the van and one drawing air in. This creates fantastic air circulation and keeps the interior cool even in extremely hot conditions.

The good insulation combined with the Truma combi boiler means you can stay warm even during very low temperatures. In Italy and Switzerland we lived happily for two months with temperatures as low as -14 degrees C. It can be set to cut in and out automatically on a timer or controlled by temperature just like your home central heating system.

There is a wet room with a flushable Thetford cassette toilet and shower with ample hot water provided by the combi boiler. This room has ventilation and heating so doubles up as a great drying room. There is also hot and cold water at the kitchen sink via a pull out tap and an additional hot or cold shower that plugs in to the outside of the van for cleaning off pets, shoes, wetsuits etc.

There is a large top of the range, Thetford fridge/freezer. It has a massive 141L capacity so you can store plenty of food for when you want to go far out into the wilderness. It has a large freezer compartment that is very useful. This is a 3 way power so it can be controlled by 240v ac current, 12v dc current or gas.

There is a gas oven and grill as well as the two burner gas hob.

Power is from a 250ah leisure battery that is kept charged up via a 360 watt solar panel mounted on the roof. It has a solar charge controller and there is also a victron ac charging unit. There is also a 2000 watt pure sine wave inverter that can provide mains electric power from the battery when not plugged into a hook up. There are multiple usb and 240v outlets throughout.

There is an adjustable dining table that can fold down or be removed completely at the push of a button.

All windows have black out blinds for total privacy.

The bed is permanently fixed at the rear and has a large “garage” type storage area underneath. We used this space to store two folding e-bikes. There is currently an area under the bed that was our cocker spaniels bedroom but this could also be used as another large storage area.

There is plenty of storage space throughout the van for all of your clothes, food and equipment.

The underside of the van houses the fresh and grey water tanks. The fresh water tank is well insulated and has 12v heat pads (although we didn’t need to use them even when very cold). It also has electronic level indicator system to tell you how much water there is and when the grey water tank is full.

There is a Gaslow refillable gas bottle with the wave level indicator system. This is great because it links direct to an app on your phone and gives you a very accurate indication of how much gas is in the tank so you never run out.

There is a large wind out Fiamma awning running the whole length of the van with external remote controlled awning light.

It has been lovingly and professionally converted to a very high standard and has everything you need to live comfortably, fully off grid as well as being perfectly suited to life on a camp site.

The van has given us so much joy and taken us on the most incredible adventures. We really hope that its next owners will enjoy exploring the world in it as much as we have!
