Meet RIVER, ‘Roam In Van to Escape Reality’ 🙂
So named because I have many a time, just like a river, gone with the flow and had the happiest of times with her since I had the honour of becoming her owner in February 2021.
She was professionally converted from empty panel van to magnificent camper by Mr Campervan in Kent in the months following my purchase of her, with completion in August 2021.
Very sad to be letting her go as a lot of heart and soul went into creating this stunning and efficient tiny home.
Light and bright she is insulated with eco friendly treated sheep’s wool (anti-bacterial, fire retardant and moisture resistant with one of the highest R values of any van insulation) you feel like you are cozied up in a sunny, airy beach house come rain or shine she is a very warm and happy place to be.
The perfect ‘stealth van’ she has taken me all the way up to the Outer Hebrides for 2 weeks of freedom (highly recommend!) The Isle of Skye, Mull, Cornwall, Wales, The New Forest to name but a few places and has never once missed a beat and I managed days off grid before simply having to drive a while to recharge the leisure battery.
She is a 2013 L2H2 Renault Master MM33 SPORT DCI 125 2.3L Turbo Diesel panel van with electric windows, air conditioning in the cab, DAB radio, sat nav, remote central locking and the usual panel van seating arrangement with the central part of the double passenger seat dropping down (very useful to access the habitation part in the back!!)
With a galvanised chassis, much less likely to rust, slightly over 107,900 miles on the clock, an MOT until February 2025 and having been well cared for in my ownership, serviced regularly and any repairs needed done, she has a long life ahead of her.
Manual with 6 gears and a brand new turbo (recently replaced in 2023), she drives like a dream, feeling more like a nippy car than a big van, averaging 34.1 MPG and managing any hill with ease. She is very easy to manoeuvre and park.
Like myself, she is an ageing beauty 😉 her bodywork isn’t perfection. A few little scratches and tiny dents here and there, but nothing too terrible, so be kind 😉

• A fully watertight shower cubicle holds a shower that operates off a 12V submersible pump, all wired in and a Thetford Qube Porta Potti

• Split charge relay charging leisure battery whilst driving and looking after battery for off grid use.
• Intelligent battery charger hard wired into van. On hook up to mains, battery will be charged, if no charge needed the charger will go into sleep mode
