The campervan was designed and built in Cornwall by professional shopfitters to be a home on wheels, with everything you would need for either a long weekend away, or for extended tours exploring the great outdoors, including off-grid adventures. The conversion was a labour of love and every part of the design and build was created and hand-crafted to an extremely high standard using as many re-claimed and ecological materials as possible.
A unique interior has been created which maximises the available space in each living area, while making it feel comfortable and homely. The spacious kitchen, with a 3 ring gas cooker plus an electric plate and fridge with freezer compartment, features: ample storage, 240v mains sockets, USB ports as well as good, solid worktops. This leads through to the raised sitting / sleeping area and gives the camper an airy and spacious feel. The living area bench seat has an adjustable back support which swings back when pulling out the bed, giving you the full width of van for the bed. This gives the best of both worlds when used as a seat and when used as a bed. There is a very large panoramic window that gives uninterrupted views during meal times or just relaxing with a coffee or glass of wine! A large, detatchable waney-edge swivelling table top completes the dining arrangements.
The raised floor at the rear of the campervan has been constructed using lightweight aluminium box sections, which are strong and light. Under the raised floor are: the 175 litre fresh water tank, water pump, Propane gas heater, solar panel storage battery (also directly connected to the vehicle’s main battery) and a large storage area for camping accessories and the grey water container. These are all accessible by removable hatches and from the rear of the vehicle.
The campervan is heated by circulated hot air provided by the gas heater. This also supplies hot water to the mixer shower and basin. The basin tap has a spray head that can reach outside for use as an external shower. There is a Thetford toilet system installed as part of the shower enclosure.
The van is fully insulated using eco sheep’s wool combined with a vapour barrier, which not only keeps you cool in the summer months and warm in the winter, but has the added benefit of being very good at reducing noise from outside the van.
From the beautiful reclaimed solid pine floor in the kitchen and bleached oak cushioned vinyl flooring in the raised seating area, to the solid oak details of the ceiling and around the control panels and switches, the environment is clean, airy and welcoming. This is complimented by the background of the satin white walls and ceiling. Blackout blinds, insect screens, curtains and LED lighting complete the cosy atmosphere of this home-from-home.
