Merecedes Sprinter 311 LWB Luton High Loader
We lovingly built this van 2 years ago after upgrading from a LWB Sprinter. We felt after living in the LWB that we needed a larger home, a full size kitchen, and an indoor shower. We spent the next 2 years travelling across Europe in Hattie; including Scotland, Ireland, Croatia, Sicily, Bulgaria, Albania, Montenegro, and happily enjoying freezing nights, hail storms and the odd dodgy park up, knowing we wouldn’t have a knock in the middle of the night.
Hattie is fully equipped for full time, off grid living, all year round. The full size kitchen, massive 3in1 (gas, battery or hook up) 85l fridge freezer, and dining table makes it an ideal space for inviting over fellow campers, and the impressive indoor shower means you can even be presentable too. There is ample head height so no need to get a sore back. With a walk through to the main cab from the back, a quick get away is easy.
ELECTRICS: She is equipped with 2 solar panels (2 x 360w), x2 100AH Renogy lithium batteries, 2KW Renogy Inverter with UPS pass through, mains hook up and battery charger, B2B charger (30amp) so you can charge whilst driving, 50amp Victron MPPT Charger – all controllable by Victron phone app. Plenty of USB sockets and mains sockets throughout the van. Laptops, hair straighteners, air fryers, food processors are no problem, just like being at home. Diesel Heater for keeping toasty in the winter nights.
WATER: 120l fresh water, 50l underslung grey, 12l black tank. LPG water heater, with hot indoor and outdoor shower (perfect for cleaning off dogs or wetsuits), fast flow water pump and accumulator tank
GAS: 11kg refillable Gasit LPG tank with exterior fill inlet, LPG 12l water heater, 2 burner hob, gas option on fridge
Other features of the van include 4 speaker car stereo with DAB and bluetooth (with waterproof speaker in shower), bed for double mattress (not included), compostable hidden toilet, space for 2 large dog beds, caravan stable type door, rear barn doors for cinematic views, wardrobe, MaxxAir fan with remote, plenty of storage above cab and in garage, surfboard rack
The van herself has had no expense spared, 12 months MOT and recent work includes new brake discs and pads, clutch and flywheel, new exhaust, driveshaft, all documented
Don’t let her appearance fool you – we spent many happy nights sleeping comfortably knowing we would not be disturbed. (You will not get this from a brand new motor home!)
We can honestly say this is the most comfortable, full time home on wheels you will find. We have lived in this van, and adjusted it along the way to make it perfect. We are selling this van as we have now moved back into a house with full time jobs, but are keen to sell this to someone who will continue Hattie’s adventures.
