Meet Myla-May, a beautifully finished, brand-new 2-berth camper conversion based on a low-mileage 2017 Peugeot Boxer L2H2.

Designed to combine the comforts and electrical capability of a much larger camper with the convenience of the compact L2 body, Myla-May is approximately 5.4 metres long, making her considerably easier to drive, park and store than many full-size campervans.

The conversion is completely gas-free, with a substantial lithium electrical system powering everything from the induction hob and microwave to the fridge, Smart TV and dedicated 12V air conditioning.

With her distinctive exterior graphics, new Rouge alloy wheels and all-terrain tyres, she looks every bit as individual outside as she does inside.

THE BASE VAN

Myla-May started life as a 2017 Peugeot Boxer L2H2 and has covered only approximately 46,750 miles.

She has had just one owner from new, comes with service history, has 11 months MOT remaining and is HPI clear.

Being an H2, there is excellent standing headroom throughout the main living area, while the L2 body keeps the overall van compact and manageable.

Externally she has been finished with brand-new Rouge alloy wheels and new all-terrain tyres, professionally applied graphics and an automatic side step.

A high-level camera provides both a reversing camera and permanent rear-view facility, giving a continuous view behind the van when required.

New drivers and passengers seats with integrated armrests, with swivel functionality allowing the cab seats to become part of the living area when parked.

LIVING & SLEEPING

The rear of Myla-May has been designed as a spacious dining and lounging area rather than sacrificing most of the van to a permanent bed.

There’s comfortable seating around a removable table with room for four people to dine, surrounded by large windows which make the interior feel exceptionally light and spacious.

When it’s time for bed, the seating quickly converts into a large double bed, creating a proper sleeping area across the rear of the camper.

All of the upholstery and curtains have been professionally made specifically for the conversion, with coordinated fabrics giving the interior a warm, finished feel.

Up front are new swivel seats with armrests, allowing the cab to become part of the living space when parked.

KITCHEN & FACILITIES

Myla-May’s kitchen is completely gas-free and includes an induction hob, sink and tap, microwave and 46-litre 230V fridge.

There’s also a 24-inch Smart TV, plenty of useful storage and a compact toilet.

One of Myla-May’s standout features is her large dedicated 12V air-conditioning system. Because this operates directly from the leisure electrical system rather than through the inverter, cooling can be used independently of campsite hook-up.

SERIOUS OFF-GRID ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

This is an area where Myla-May is particularly well equipped.

At the heart of the system is a large 300Ah lithium leisure battery, providing approximately 3.8kWh of nominal stored energy.

Charging is provided from two independent sources:

Solar through a Victron MPPT solar controller, and alternator charging through a Victron DC-DC charger.

A Victron SmartShunt provides Bluetooth battery monitoring, allowing battery state and power usage to be viewed from a smartphone.

For mains equipment there is a Renogy 3000W pure sine-wave inverter with automatic changeover, alongside conventional 230V campsite hook-up. Multiple 230V sockets are fitted throughout the living area.

When hook-up power is available, the system can use the external AC supply; when it is removed, the Renogy’s automatic transfer system allows the onboard inverter supply to take over.

The high-current DC installation uses generously specified cabling, dedicated circuit protection, busbars and labelled distribution.

TESTED, NOT JUST INSTALLED

As part of final commissioning, Myla-May’s electrical system has been operated under sustained real-world loads while the high-current connections, fuses, busbars and electrical compartment were thermally checked.

A recent test ran the 12V air conditioning, fridge and television simultaneously for 10 minutes, drawing approximately 600W.

Following final inspection and correction of a high-current termination discovered during commissioning, the main 300A MEGA fuse and associated connections remained at approximately 22–23°C, with no abnormal heating observed in the associated cabling or busbars.

The electrical compartment also incorporates temperature-controlled forced ventilation, providing additional cooling automatically if the compartment temperature rises.

It’s the sort of testing that’s difficult to photograph for an advert, but rather important when you’re sitting on top of a 300Ah lithium electrical system!

WHY MYLA-MAY?

Myla-May isn’t trying to be a huge motorhome squeezed into a panel van.

Instead, the aim was to create a compact, modern, gas-free camper with a genuinely capable electrical system, plenty of living space and the equipment needed to be comfortable both on and off-grid.

At around 5.4 metres long, she’s short enough to be practical while still offering standing room, a large double bed, seating for four, cooking facilities, fridge, microwave, Smart TV, toilet and even 12V air conditioning.

And with only around 46,750 miles, one owner from new and a completely new conversion, she offers an interesting alternative to an older factory camper or a much larger motorhome.
