Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

2005 2.0L FWD Ford Transit LWB, high top, covered 134,502 miles, next MOT is due December 2021. The van has only done 21 miles since the last MOT due to lockdown restrictions. I’ve taken her out on a few short trips to keep everything running smoothly. There is age related wear and tear but overall in good condition with a solid engine. Plenty of tread on the tyres. There are some scratches/imperfections in the paintwork but doesn’t detract from the look of the van. Body type is Van/side windows.

Conversion Description

Bought in 2019, Heidi was transformed from a work van to a contemporary two berth campervan by myself (James), The Yorkshire Craftsman. She has been on epic trips across the UK and enjoyed by many people. The short 2020 rental season was a huge success through Quirky Campers (listed as ‘The Heidaway’) and proved to be a great way of earning an income whilst being able to enjoy the campervan myself. My reason for selling Heidi is to raise money for a new build I am currently working on. The new owner will be able to list Heidi for rental through Quirky Campers and take advantage of the upcoming holiday boom in the UK which could potentially generate up to £15k in bookings (by the end of the season). There is a valid Landlords Gas Safe Certificate and proof of unladen weight which are both requirements by Quirky Campers in order to list for rental through their site.

Featuring a spacious seating area which cleverly converts into a lengthways king size bed, she provides the comforts of home without any compromises. At 5.6m in length, the van is small enough to feel at ease when driving on winding country roads, whilst having plenty of storage and living space for two (and a furry friend)! The interior has been designed with cleanliness and good hygiene in mind. From vinyl flooring to wipeable surfaces and upholstery, you can be assured that once cleaned, there are no nasties left behind.

Packed with off-grid equipment including a huge lithium battery, solar panel and diesel heater, the campervan is prepared for all seasons. The portable 25L water tanks allow for plenty of washing up whilst being light enough to carry to any water source. Cooking is made easy on the double gas hob and ingredients kept fresh thanks to the brilliantly efficient fridge/freezer. There is a bin located in the cupboard below the sink which is shared with the water tanks and gas locker. Under the driver side sofa, there is a portable chemical toilet which can be quickly slid out when needed. Throughout the time I’ve owned Heidi, she has never needed to be hooked up to campsite electric and has been entirely powered by the solar panel + battery setup. There is a battery monitor which provides an easy way to check the battery state of charge and also allows you to see how much power is being generated/consumed. More in-depth information and historical data can be viewed using the Victron app. If you intend to use the campervan for long periods in the winter, the battery can be charged at a campsite using the hook up cable which is included in this sale. The 230v socket on the passenger side sofa can also be used whilst on hook up.

I have recently made some upgrades to the campervan and so some of the photos and YouTube video will be of the old setup. A brand new solid oak table top has been fitted to replace the walnut one which had suffered some dents (the table mechanism remains the same). A control panel has also been installed above the passenger side sofa which now neatly contains the heater controller power cable. The carbon monoxide alarm, USB charging port and battery monitor are also mounted on the panel. The 230v mains battery charger has been upgraded which provides faster charging if needed during the winter months when solar power is limited.

I will provide an instruction manual for Heidi which will give detailed information on how to use all aspects of the campervan and useful tips on maintenance.
