Off-Grid 4-Berth Vauxhall Vivaro LWB | Lithium Power, Diesel Heating & Handcrafted Kitchen

Designed to offer the ultimate balance between a functional daily driver and a fully capable off-grid adventure van, this 4-berth Vivaro was purposefully built to eliminate the need for a second vehicle. Seat belt provision for five passengers and a rock-and-roll bed mounted on sliding rails mean you can easily shift between carrying passengers, expanding rear boot storage, or converting the space into comfortable overnight sleeping alongside the Austops pop-top. Its compact profile and standard LWB footprint allow it to navigate city traffic and park in standard car park bays with ease, making it as effortless to commute in as it is to live in. When you do head off the grid, an Autotherm diesel heater, 240Ah lithium battery setup, and 160W solar system deliver genuine four-season capability, giving you complete independence wherever you park.

The van uses solar power and alternator charging to charge the high capacity lithium battery off grid. There is no mains hook-up, as this has never been needed. The van will run the fridge on full power, alongside a 240v TV, charge phones and laptops etc, topping the battery up each day with a modest amount of solar power. We have been off grid for a week in this van without running the battery below 50%.

The gas cylinder for the hob has been installed in accordance with the relevant regs, with a locker and drop-out vent, although not certified as the van has never been rented out. The vehicle has been weighed as part of an MOT at 2240kg, but we have not had it weighed at a weigh-bridge as it is comfortably below the plated weight.
