Comfortable and practical converted panel van, with ample storage, solid oak counter tops, a full size double bed, on board shower, solar panels and LPG power sources, and the ability to access the driving seat without having to get out the van β which was important to me as a solo female traveller.
Kitchen
Solid oak counter top, fullsize sink with mixer tap and a range of base and upper cupboards giving ample storage for supplies, kitchen equipment. The cooker/oven is a Dometic Triplex oven with a three ring burner using LPG from an underslung tank. There is also a compressor fridge to keep essentials cool. This is silent so wonβt wake you up! There is also a pull up power bank set into the worktop for electical hook ups on sites.
Dining area
Solid oak adjustable table which seats two when the drivers seat is swivelled.
Heating
heater/water heater is a Truma 4E which can be set to run on either LPG or the leisure battery. It is quick and efficient with hot water available in less than 30 mins and heating delivered almost instantly via the vents in the base boards.
Lighting
A range of LED spotlights overhead and along the baseboards. There are two reading lights over the bed along with a handy mobile charger pod.
Shower
Full size shower with mixer in enclosed tray. There are fixed metal hooks and a hot air vent which also allows the space to used to dry wetsuits or laundry.
Theford 345 porta potti is housed in the shower space.
Storage
In addition to the internal cupbords there is a spacious full size garage under the bed.
Bed
A full size double with over head reading lights, window curtains fitted for privacy, but also a great place to hang out with a good book and the doors open to a great view on a sunny day. Bedside mobile phone charging pod
Water and Gas tanks
All the tanks are underslung for stability, space and safety. The fresh water tank has a lockable cap and holds up to 91 lt. The grey water tank holds 61 lt. The LPG tank can be refilled at selected petrol stations and hold 26lt. it is incredibly efficient and cost effective.

Structure
The Van was stripped of all interior boarding, cleaned and insulated using a mix of Kingspan thermo board and recycled plastic insulation. Both of these do not retain any moisture meaning there is less change of rust issues occurring from moisture within the van. Over the top of this I used an aluminium based bubble wrap to introduce a thermal barrier to help with moisture.
Electric system
The 12 volt electric system is charged from the solar panels that are isolated using separate fuses for safety. The 12 volt system has its own fuse panel so each 12 volt item can be isolated individually. The 240v electric system has a fuse box with an RCD built in for safety for the shore power system. The 240 volt system that runs from the invertor also has a fuse box with RCD for safety. The cables where passing through the van had been run through plastic conduit to protect them from rubbing on any metal .
Gas supply
The gas supply is from an underslung tank from Gas-IT who are the leading supplier of these systems and was purchased already constructed to aid safety and can be shut off from within the van. The cooker and heater have drop vents (that is a requirement) so if a leak ever occurs then the gas will escape the van and not fill the van. I always used an alarm when I was in the van as a safety measure to be sure (and it never went off)
In Addition

Fire extinguisher
