Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

The van was a community ambulance, it drove around elderly people (rather than the emergency kind, so hasn’t had the major engine strain.) From 2013-2020 it went to a school and was a sports minibus, where it did very little mileage. We bought it in November 2020, and stripped everything out ready for the conversion. We travelled around Europe for 6 months without a single problem. Despite being an 06 model, the 2.5L engine pulls really well – you’ll be pleasantly surprised once you’ve given it a drive.

158,000 miles, manual, 2006.
MOT and last service 16/11/2024.
Maintained by the same garage since we’ve had it, with 3 full services. All major and minor advisories carried out on MOTs.

Work done:
CAM belt/ water pump changed in 2022
Auxiliary belt changed 2022
Engine guard installed 2021
New battery 2023
Full new back leaf-spring suspension in 2022
New steering ball joint 2022
New brake pads & disks front and back 2022/2023
4 x brand new all-weather tyres 2023 (Continental Van Contact) plenty of tread left.

Safety features:
3 x Milenco dead locks (on all exterior doors)
Steel pedal lock.
Steering wheel lock (Stop-Lock Pro Elite.)

Conversion Description

-The entire interior has been given a coat of Hammerite. Renault Master’s use galvanised metal, so rust has never been an issue.
– Sound deadened, thoroughly insulated with a vapour barrier throughout. We were warm whilst in the Alps in April, and Scandinavia in October!
– The van is made from oak/ walnut veneer, so it’s not as heavy as it looks. It was weighed towards the end of the conversion and came in well under 3.5 tonnes.

Bedroom: ¾ bed with a memory foam mattress. Overhead cabinets, 240v chargers, cushioned head rests. Bed dimensions: 123cm wide, 184.5cm tall.

Living area: Large sofa area, with under seat storage and pull out drawer built to accommodate a toilet. Hidden safe (2 x MacBook size/ phones/ cash/ passports.) Extendable walnut veneer table with detachable leg. Heater outlet. New blinds installed throughout. Height floor to ceiling (standing room): 184cm.

Kitchen: Designed and used by a chef, so storage and space were paramount. Double gas hob, deep sink, pull out larder. Plenty of overhead storage, with the addition of durable plastic rattan. All drawers have safety catches and are soft close. Under cabinet lighting.

Garage: All electrics and the air-tight gas container stored here. Bespoke storage. Can fit 2 fold-up bikes.

Toilet/ Shower: We decided against a built-in shower/ toilet cubicle to maximise space, however you can still shower inside. The portable shower, shower tent and collapsible water collection tray will come with the van. There’s a large pull out drawer that accommodates a toilet. We mainly used an outdoor pop-up shower tent from Decathlon, worked fine for us for 6 months.
