Vehicle Description

2010 Mercedes Sprinter 313 CDI 2.2 MWB

I bought this sprinter as a panel van on August 2020 with 35,640 miles on the clock. I would be the second owner from new, It was used by a company that worked / maintained the railway tracks. With the mileage and the condition it was in when I brought it, I would say it had been used for light work and stored most of its life with little use. These sprinters are one of the most popular vans to convert to a campervan for a reason.. the engines are very very reliable. These particular models commonly cover 250,000-300,000 and is not uncommon to see higher mileage with some well serviced sprinters. Considering this sprinter campervan has now only covered 48,276 this camper has a long life ahead.

Drives superb , not underpowered for a campervan and really pulls on hills and can overtake with ease when needed.

I had the underside professionally wax oiled before I started the conversion to keep the bottom protected from rust. Although the bottom was immaculate and rust free I decided to also give the van extra protection.

This van has been very well maintained and serviced.

MOT expires on 1st of January 2025, Has just been fully serviced.

Conversion Description

The work has been completed at a very high professional standard, built to last. No expense was spared when converting this van , I brought and the best materials I could get my hands on.

SECURITY:
All doors have had deadlocks professionally installed. This is additional locks that are not connected to the electrical central locking and used by a separate key.

WINDOWS:
โ€ขSide loading door – tinted – sliding opening window with fixed bug / mosquito screen
โ€ขBunker window – tinted – sliding opening window with fixed bug / mosquito screen

WHEELS:
โ€ขSand blasted and powered coated black fitted with bfgoodrich all terrain tyres. The spare is mounted on a wheel carrier on the back door.

PARKING:
โ€ขReverse camera above the back doors with a screen inside the cab make easy parking.
โ€ขTow bar with electrics.

SOLAR PANELS:
โ€ขNDS 300W Aero Solar –
Theses solar panels are premium solar panels made in Italy and known for efficiency and reliability. Bypass diodes are built in which help to protect the panel against damage and minimise power loss due to shading.

ROOF VENTS:
โ€ขMaxx air fan –
These MaxxAir roof vents have a powerful 10 speed intake and exhaust fan, with thermostatic control to automatically vent the vehicle as the temperature rises. And has a built-in rain cover to protect your camper van or motorhome’s interior during wet weather. This also means that you are able to keep the vent open when it is raining. Comes with an LCD display remote control and manual controls on the underside of the unit.
โ€ขShower/toilet room has a domed (12v roof air vent)

INSULATION:
โ€ขCeiling – 25mm celotex
โ€ขWalls – recycled bottle insulation
โ€ขFloor – 25mm celotex
โ€ขAll panels also have sounds deadening installed

BATTERIES:
โ€ข260agm Rolls deep cycle batteryโ€™s –
located underneath the passenger seat for space saving. These have been brilliant, I have always had plenty of power. Especially when helped by the 300w of solar already mentioned. USB ports/charging and dimmable lights throughout this van powered by 12v electricity.

ELECTRICAL:
โ€ขVictron Battery Monitor –
Offering a simple yet effective way to keep tabs on your electrical system. Featuring an intuitive screen designed for electrical system control panels, this smart battery monitor is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, enabling seamless monitoring through the VictronConnect app.
โ€ขVictron MPPT SmartSolar charger –
This controller optimally harvests power from solar panels, intelligently charging your leisure batteries and preventing overcharging for enhanced battery protection.
โ€ขFuse boxes –
Thereโ€™s two fuse boxes located in the garage. Both are labelled/colour coded to the correct appliance and fuses . Both are Marine grade fuse boxes with heavy duty covers.

WIRES / SWITCHES:
I used marine grade electrical 12v wires which are more reliable in freezing temperatures. All switches in the van are premium – stainless steel – touch – led lights built in on most switchesโ€ฆ. This van even has a led switch that glows blue when the toilet needs emptying ๐Ÿ˜Ž

SEATING / TABLE:
Passenger seat swivels facing the driverโ€™s seat or living space for extra seating. Facing the drivers seat seems to be my favourite as the walkway is a great place for your feet. Itโ€™s also a great position for the Logan swivel table to be used so you can eat or relax with laptop ect.

WINDOW COVERS / CURTAINS:
The cab and the rear of the van can be separated by a thermal curtain. This is hidden behind the driverโ€™s seat when not in use. This curtain is great at keeping the heat in as well as providing privacy. You can also choose to maximise your space with eyes open magnetic window covers allowing the same privacy and thermal insulation wile keeping the cab area open to the living space. All windows have their own bespoke magnetic window cover.

WOOD:
The wood Iโ€™m this van is very unique!! Itโ€™s unlikely to be replicated!! All the timber in this van (apart from the birch ply units) Came from the same tree, A tulip tree.
I had my local sawmill / joinery shop order me x amount. When it arrived from the US it was unusually darker than he had seen and with a lot of browns and beautiful twisting grains. From the reaction from him when he made all the timber into t&g boards ect, was that I was very lucky to get this timber. The wood work in this van is beautiful โ€ฆ. It gives a very warm cabin feel. Kitchen Units over head cupboards – bitch ply – cut from cnc machine, heavy duty cupboard latches and hinges used.
โ€ขAll wood had been oiled with osmo oil.

COOKER:
โ€ขThetford Spingo Triplex –
The Spinflo Triplex oven features a three burner hob, and individual burners for the grill and the oven.
Shutoff valve which will turn the gas off as you shut the lid, to ensure the burners do not remain on when you put the lid down.

FRIDGE / FREEZER:
.โ€ขThetford T2090 Compressor –
Capacity: 90 Litres, including freezer of 6.6 Litres
Power: 12V
This fridge also has night mode for light sleepers. At a press on a button you can put the fridge in sleep mode that makes it pretty much silent for 8 hours.

SINK:
โ€ขRuvati 15 x 15 inch Workstation Stainless Steel –
This WORKstation sink from Ruvatis Roma series was designed with campers and Tiny Homes in mind. The sink comes with built-in colander that stops unwanted kitchen waste clogging up your drain. This was also shipped over from ths US as I wanted a small but deep sink that would be deep enough to be able to do sink chores.

HEATING:
โ€ขAutoterm planar diesel heater 2kw –
One of the best diesel heaters on the market,Very efficient and easy to use. This heater is plumbed into the vans main diesel tank so you do not need to be filling separate tanks to stay warm.

SHOWER / TOILET:
This is one of my favourite parts of the van โ€ฆ a full shower wet room. The toilet is a composting toilet and it literally is amazing. Itโ€™s made by a company called compoost toilets ltd.

WATER HEATER:
โ€ขiMass Instantaneous Water Heater –
The shower and sink produce instantaneous hot water! Yes instant , no waiting around for a 30min to 1 hour for water to heat up. Soon as you turn the tap o would say after 10-20 seconds you have hot water.

WATER TANKS:
I have managed to install just over 100 litres of water ( a very long shower if you wanted to ). One tank is in the garage area and one is underneath. Both or connected with an electrical solenoid valve. This allows you to have a reserve tank and fill your main tank by a switch inside. The main water tank has been installed with a 12v heat blanket, this automatically turn on at freezing temperature to stop any damage to the tank. 35 litre waste water tank, fitted with electrical solenoid valve. This allows you to empty your waste tank by a switch inside.

GAS TANK:
55 litre gas tank, this is installed under the van where you would house the spare wheel. I have never been able to empty this tankโ€ฆ. Itโ€™s unbelievable how long the gas lasts! This also had an electrical solenoid valve so you have shut the gas off at the bottle (make van completely safe to travel and sleep) by a switch inside the van.

GARAGE:
Under the bed is a big garage with an access door to the living area. This is a great feature for anyone who wants to travel with a dog as it make a perfect place for them to stay. Itโ€™s also very handy to accessing your equipment in the garage area from the living space without having to go outside the van.

SAFETY:
โ€ขPower cut off –
I have installed a mains power cut off switch that can be easily accessed for use when doing repairs or when the campervan is not in use.
โ€ขfire extinguisher
โ€ขfire blanket
โ€ขco alarm
โ€ขfire alarm

I have really enjoyed turning this van into an awesome reliable, off grid campervan.I have done a trip from Cornwall to Scotland and lived in this van for a monthโ€ฆ itโ€™s was amazing everything worked perfectly. Because of itโ€™s size you can drive and park it anywhere and still have everything you need (more than what you need)! Im really torn on selling this van as it preforms so well, I will be very sad to see it go! I know who ever buys this van will love it as much as I do!

Thanks Justin
