Jaffa started life as a concreting van and I converted her into a micro camper and daily runner. I’m selling because I’m moving to the city and need something ULEZ compliant.
2009 Ford Transit Connect T230 LWB High Roof, 1.8 TDCi diesel, 5-speed manual. Drives well. MOT’d June 2026 with zero advisories, valid to June 2027. Partial service history, four good tyres.
The bodywork is honest – dents and scratches from a working life, rear light damage repaired with tape, and some rust-paint touch-ups on the roof that are only visible if you’re taller than the van. She’s not pretty on the outside but makes up for it with the awesome interior; it’s the perfect stealth camper.
Fitted a Road Angel touchscreen in 2023 — Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, sat nav, reversing camera. Has an intermittent fault but has been reliable for the last few months. A brand new replacement unit is included. Sale also includes all of the power and cooking bits you could need + a 8ft foamie surfboard if you want it, which fits perfectly into the ceiling straps.
Comes with V5C and partial service history.
The Conversion: Built entirely by my hands & a lot of Youtube vidoes. Every cut is mine, which also means it’s straightforward to understand, easy to work on, and simple to make your own.
Interior: Tongue and groove pine ceiling, solid pine plywood walls and furniture, oak-effect vinyl floor — practical, wipeable, and fine with sandy feet. The standout feature is a floor-to-ceiling illustrated fish wall that sets the whole vibe. Fairy lights, rechargeable hanging lamps, enamel mugs, a cast iron octopus bottle opener, macramé rope hammock, and storage nets on both rear doors. A Cornish Pisky lives on the dashboard and comes with the van.
Ventilation: A blackout curtain separates the cab from the living space. Side windows have rain covers so you can crack them for airflow without anyone outside noticing — essential for stealth camping. Portable rechargeable fan included.
Side Door: The sliding passenger side-door is one of Jaffa’s best features — makes the van feel much bigger for daily use. Both rear and side doors lock from the inside, so you can secure yourself in completely overnight. Worth noting for solo travellers.
Power: Jackery Explorer 500 (worth ~£400 new) included with all cables. Handles lights, fan, and phone charging for a week without issue.
Cooking & Water: Two-burner Campingaz stove, portable BBQ, titanium pot set, Stanley flask, folding table, chopping board, tongs. A brand new cigarette-lighter portable shower is included — good for rinsing off after a surf. Cooking is outside.
Surfboard Straps: Two heavy duty ceiling straps hold a board up to 8ft inside the van. An 8ft foam surfboard is available too.
Vehicle Features: The passenger seat folds completely flat, giving more space if you are travelling solo. Spare wheel and jack present and original.
Jaffa sleeps one adult comfortable, or two adults who don’t mind being close!
In single mode the bed sits neatly along one side of the van — 185cm long x 65cm wide — leaving valuable floor space free for kit, a wet wetsuit or just room to move around.
For more bed space and comfort, the bed pulls out in two halves to create a cosy double of 185cm x 120cm, perfect for two adults or one adult and a child. Each half lifts independently for easy under-bed storage access. Spare slats included (none have ever broken). Double Trail self-inflating mat included.
The wooden slat base sits on a solid handbuilt storage frame, keeping everything stable and rattle-free through the night. A double self-inflating Trail sleeping mat is included with the sale, meaning you can be sleeping in Jaffa the same night you collect her.
