VW Crafter 2019 MWB
Full service, MOT and new front-breaks completed March 2024 at cost of £1,100.
For sale: my cherished VW Crafter MWB, the ultimate van for remote work and adventures. Designed for off-grid living with ample storage for sports gear. The whole design was planned for being off-grid working and surfing for days.
Priced to sell with the base van and equipment costing over £60,000 if new.
This really is an exceptional van with spend, details and features you won’t find on anything priced similar…
=== Key Features: ===
Electric:
– 100% Victron electric setup and no gas!
– Incl. 460Ah Roamer Lithium batteries, 3000W Victron inverter.
– Vs. other vans – messing around with gas, finding new bottles or supply, takes up space.
Heating and Cooling:
– Airconditioning on batteries!
– household infrared heating.
– Vs. other vans – No air-conditioning and hot in the summer, loud and smelly diesel heating or no heating at all.
Connectivity:
– 4G and wifi
– Starlink-ready mount connected to wifi.
– Vs other vans – No connectivity or optimised desk space for working remotely.
=== Living Space: ====
Large kitchen, induction cooking, Dometic fridge, custom 180cm long double bed, compost toilet, extensive water system, Fiamma awning, outdoor shower.
=== Insulation & Security: ====
Advanced multi-layer insulation, top-grade Thatcham alarm system, SimpliSafe Home Security (incl. key-thob remote, motion sensors, glass smash, loud alarm – rigged on a 12v setup so always on), robust door locks, locked secure garage space.
– Vs. other vans – Minimal insulation means it gets hot in the sun very quickly. No or limited sound deadening meaning noisy. It’s hard to stress here the extra layers that went into the van!
– Vs other vans – No security, gear easily stolen through a window or skylight then doors opened. Security systems alone are worth £2,500.
=== Garage ===
– Huge space designed for sports gear, bikes, kites, etc.
– Hot water shower
– Fully secured with deadlocks
– Vs. other vans – Limited space for basic camping equipment, not optimised for a large amount of sport gear which ends up in the living space.

=== Vehicle: ===
VW Crafter with upgraded suspension, new brakes, full service, Apple Airplay, business pack and cab aircon, MOT until April 2025.
– Vs other vans: No suspension upgrade, higher mileage.
=== About the Conversion: ===
Custom converted by a professional for unique off-grid, remote work requirements. Optimized through use, sold as a business, VAT included.
– Vs other vans: Built DIY or by a convertor optimising lower costs and materials. I built this van for myself with everything at the highest spec possible. In total, the base cost plus equipment, not including the conversion labour is worth £60,000+
There’s much I haven’t listed here, but the spec of the electronics and the quality of the wood finishes is better than you’ll find anywhere else.
Please note, in some photos the van includes off-road tires and steel rims, these have been removed and the original van tires restored, and reflected in the van price. These can easily be upgraded again.
This has been converted custom by a close-friend (converted 12 vans!) who is a professional van convertor taking on my unique design for an off-grid, remote work set up. After a season of use, I’ve decided to move back to Spain and it does not make sense to import a right-hand-drive van. Therefore I’m reluctantly selling to buy a van on Spanish plates. The van has been used by me for about 3 months with small modifications to perfect the setup along the way. This means you’re not only getting an almost completely new van, but one that has been lived in, tested and optimised.
