Vehicle Description

Overview:
The van has very good mileage for its age and has just passed its MOT. Sadly, I don’t have the funds or time to complete the conversion, though if you love going back to the basics, this van is perfect for you. It’s a perfect time to buy if you like DIY as you’ll have plenty of time to get this looking exactly how you want it for all your summer trips ahead. The centre-piece of this van is the beautiful wood burning stove which makes for a very cosy van even on the coldest of nights. The exterior has been coated with black Raptor paint which has a rough textured finish which it claims doesn’t fade or scratch. The effect gives the van a very unique appearance! There are however some small areas that could do with another coat due to rust or cracking (pictures up soon). The van also comes fitted with iconic BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres

The Conversion:
A moisture barrier has been installed, with kingspan insulation throughout the living space. I’ve used 8ml wooden cladding for the ceiling to minimise on weight and have left it unvarnished/unpainted meaning you can get the colour that suits you best! 2 of the windows have window tint in place though one could do with replacing. I have a roll of tint film to do this and the rear windows if necessary! The blind separating the belted seats from the living space has lost its spring so you have to manually roll and unroll, though a replacement is very cheap.

A sink has been built into the worktop but has not been plumbed in for waste water- though this would not be a big job. A 95 litre water tank is located in the boot space, with a pressure equaliser fitted to ensure smooth water flow to the tap over the sink. A water pump is installed but it is needing replaced (as cheap as £40). A 2 burner gas hob is also located on the worktop alongside the beautiful wood burning stove. A metal plate is installed to the rear of these for fire safety.

The living space has 2 opposing couches.

Electrics:
2 AGM 95Ah batteries and a solar panel power the 12V Electrics, using an Abso DC to DC 50A solar split relay charge. The electrics need some TLC – mainly the central units to tidy up the wires. The electrics power 2 bedside lights, 2 separate USB ports (one with a cigarette lighter style charger), overhead lighting, a carbon monoxide alarm, a gas detector, a water pump and 4 51W LED spotlights on top of the van.

Another excellent feature of the van is the roof rack I installed. This has been a dream for taking my kayak on adventures! If you’re more into biking, I have successfully strapped 2 bikes on top.

The van does have some dents (pictures to follow). It’s worth mentioning that the side entrance door does not have central locking meaning you have to lock and unlock the door from the inside – this is completely safe and honestly not a big issue.

There is a coolant leak that I have been quoted a few hundred pounds to sort out. One of the bulb lamps for the headlight also needs replacing. Aside from that, the van could do with a general bit of TLC and then should be grand! I’ve just not got the time or money to do it at the moment.
