Vehicle details

* 82,500 miles
* ULEZ compliant
* Diesel
* Only 2 owners from new
* Ex-BT fleet vehicle
* Heated seats
* Regularly serviced and maintained
* Proven reliable on long-distance trips
* Generally in good working condition

2016 Ford Transit Custom L1H1 with approximately 82,500 miles.

Originally an ex-BT vehicle, so it was regularly serviced and maintained during its working life before I bought it. It has had just two owners in total — BT and then myself.

It’s been a really reliable van during my ownership. I’ve covered around 15,000–20,000 miles in the last year and a half, including long trips down to the north coast of Spain and up to the Scottish Highlands, and it has always performed really well.

It’s a diesel and is ULEZ compliant, making it much more practical for travelling into cities and low-emission zones.

It also has heated seats and is generally in good working condition. It drives well and has been regularly used rather than left standing.

Conversion Description

* Fully insulated and winter-ready
* Integrated diesel heater with constant-temperature, timer and manual modes
* Leisure battery + split-charge relay
* USB charging points
* Running-water sink
* Full-length double bed with memory foam mattress
* Indoor table and comfortable bench seating
* Outdoor summer kitchen setup
* Plenty of practical storage
* Warm LED lighting + bedside lights
* Curtains and carpet-lined interior for a cosy feel
* Stealth exterior — looks like a normal van from the outside
* Professionally finished by Slow Hands Workshop
* Built using premium materials including 18mm birch plywood

This is a genuinely comfortable, all-season camper that has been designed to work just as well on a cold winter weekend as it does on a summer road trip.

It’s fully insulated and fitted with an integrated diesel heater, so winter nights are warm and comfortable. Inside there’s a proper living space with bench seating, a table for eating or working when the weather isn’t playing ball, running water, USB charging, warm LED lighting and plenty of storage.

In summer, the outdoor kitchen setup lets you cook outside and make the most of good weather, while the understated exterior makes it a great stealth camper — from the outside it still looks like a normal Transit Custom.

The conversion was completed by Slow Hands Workshop, using quality materials such as 18mm birch plywood and with a focus on making it solid, practical and built to last.

I’ve taken it everywhere from northern Spain to the Scottish Highlands, the Lake District and plenty of weekends closer to home. It’s been an incredibly comfortable and enjoyable van to travel in — warm in winter, pleasant in summer and easy to live with for anything from a spontaneous weekend away to a longer road trip.

I’ll be genuinely sad to see it go, but it’s ready for someone else to start having adventures in it.

Beds Description

Full-Length Double Bed
* Full-length double bed
* Ideal for anyone over 6ft tall
* Pull-out design over the bench seating
* Real memory foam mattress
* Comfortable and supportive
* Feels much more like a proper bed than typical camper cushions

A proper full-length double bed designed for a genuinely comfortable night’s sleep — even if you’re over 6ft tall.

The bed pulls out easily over the bench seating and uses a real memory foam mattress rather than thin camper cushions, so it feels much more like sleeping in a proper bed. Comfortable, supportive and one of the best features of the van after a long day on the road.
