Ford Transit LWB
Hi everyone,
We are sadly selling our beautiful boy Woody to help to fund the purchase of our first home! He has given us some incredible adventures and we hope that whoever purchases him will love him as much as we do. He has a BRAND NEW MOT with no advisories which runs until April 2025.
As far as the vehicle goes, he is a Long Wheel Base Diesel Ford Transit, from 2005. He runs beautifully, and has happily travelled up and down the country for the past 18 months with my family. In terms of maintenance over the past year or so we have added:
– A brand new car battery
– 4 brand new tyres
– A brand new clutch
– A brand new alternator
– A brand new windscreen
– Brand new brake pads
The previous owners had also fully treated the undercarriage of the van to protect from rust etc – our mechanics have told us his underside is in the best nick they have ever seen for this type of van!
We’ve taken him all over without issue – in the past 18 months or so we have done the Northcoast 500 in Scotland, North Wales, Cornwall, Peak District, Lake District etc – basically all corners of the UK!
Woody is a beautiful conversion, with much of it done by a professional carpenter. He is full of little details which are so lovely. Best of all, we have had Woody approved by Quirky as ready to rent, so if you wish you could start with that as a side gig pretty much straight away!
He has everything you’d expect from a van conversion, much of it updated or brand new in the last 18 months:
– Fitted with 2 additional back seats built into the van’s chassis
– Woodburner and chimney for heat!
– Dometic fridge
– Brand New Hob and Oven with grill
– Brand New Water Pump System with 70L water tank
– Brand New Victron Inverter and plugs – he works perfectly for working remotely charging laptops etc
– USB chargers dotted throughout including beside back seats, under the bed and in the top bunk
– Brand New LED spotlights added throughout the conversion with dimmer. Includes separate switches so you can have lights on in different sections of the van at different times.
– Fully re-done gas system with two tanks and approved gas safety check
– Victron Solar system which keeps everything powered well
– 2 Leisure Batteries with Split Relay
– Brand new custom blackout curtains throughout the van
– Brand new custom upholstery for cushions and toilet cover
– Portable Thetford PortaPotty
– Skylight with shade and mesh
– Ample storage space with new bungie installed.
– Full pantry/closet with extra storage

Woody comes with a standard double bed towards the back of the van. This comfortably fits two adults, no problem – I am 6’6″ and it is a bit of a squeeze lengthwise for a giant like me but for my 5’10” it is more than fine.
There is also a bunk above the back seats which can comfortably fit two children – my twin boys are 3 and they love it up there and fit with lots of space. This space is probably not suitable to anyone who isn’t either a child or a very small adult.
There is also an additional bunk which can be fitted to some built in hooks that hang over the back two seats. We’ve never used this so we don’t have a mattress or the rope for it, but we do have the frame ready to go and one small adult could sleep there taking the berths to 5.
