Rent/Ride Ready Camper

Description of Beds: The camper will sleep up to 2 adults in a fold-out double bed. The bed is 201 x 121 cm. The bed can be turned into L-shaped seating if required.

Description of Seating: The van has two belted seats in the front (including the driver) with headrests. The passenger seat can be turned to face the van to create a comfortable social living space. The bed folds out in 2 sections, which can be alternatively folded away to create L-shaped seating.

Description of Electrical Setup: The 200W solar panel and a 120Ah leisure battery allow for off-grid living. There are four USB ports in the driving area, and four in the living area (two of which are right beside the bed). There is a 3-socket, electric extension cable which allows you to connect to a campsite’s electrical hook-up point.

Cooking Equipment: The van has everything you could need to cook up a feast, including 2 traditional enamel camping mugs, 2 ceramic tumblers, 2 wine glasses, 2 large plates, 2 small plates, 2 bowls, cutlery for 2, spatula, whisk, wooden spoon, ladle, serving plates, salad bowl and servers, fruit bowl, small and large saucepan with lids, frying pan with lid, colander, sharp knives, chopping board, tin opener, veg peeler, bottle opener, grater, coffee percolator, teapot. You can use the two-ring hob inside or use the portable BBQ (fuel required) for cooking outside. The van also has cleaning materials such as a dustpan and brush, cleaning products and cloths, tea towels and bin bags.

Water and Sanitation: There is a 25-litre removable water tank that supplies water to the sink via a foot pump; an outdoor shower that you can hang up in the trees or on the outside of the van door with water heated from the hob; and a portable toilet which fits discreetly into its own roll-out compartment under the bed.

Audio: The van is equipped with a custom audio system in the front of the van with USB, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connections, although the system is temperamental and will need replacing if you’d like to use an inbuilt system. (We’ve always just used a Bluetooth speaker instead!).

Conversion Story: Before we converted the van, she was a met police van! Niall and Iona bought the van from a dealer and drove her back to North Wales where they lovingly converted her. Niall, a cabinet maker by trade, constructed the ceiling from Welsh cedar and the cupboard doors from Estonian birch. We wanted a beautiful, homely, and calming space to travel and be in, hence the exposed wood, white walls, emerald green tiles, and macramé hanger. The van is a brilliant travel companion- she drives like a normal car, feels inconspicuous when parked overnight, and makes an active life with lots of weekend and longer trips feel very easy!

“Staying in Rua was an absolute delight! There are so many little touches that make it the perfect place to spend some time in. The bed was easy to put out and put away, there is lots of storage and the kitchen area is easy to set up to use with a small fridge and sink. Really helpful to have the usb ports and reading lamp. Driving is very smooth and comfy. The blackout blinds and insulation makes it dark and warm for the perfect night’s sleep.
