Located in peaceful farmland beneath Whinlatter Forest Park, the site sits between Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater, offering an excellent base for exploring the northern area of the Lake District National Park.
Many of Alfred Wainwright’s North Western Fells can be walked directly from the campsite, while the mountain biking trails and walking routes in Whinlatter Forest Park are right on the doorstep.
The site is just half a mile from Braithwaite, where a quiet back lane leads to three welcoming village pubs serving good food and drink. The popular market town of Keswick is only three miles away and offers two supermarkets, a wide selection of cafés and restaurants, outdoor clothing shops, a cinema, and the well-known Theatre by the Lake.
The campsite is also conveniently located on the Stagecoach X5 bus route, providing connections to Workington and Cockermouth to the west, and Keswick and Penrith to the east.
