Itโs very well designed – like a tardis. I’ve cooked a fry-up for 7 adults in this van and had them all round the table to eat it!
These vans are very quirky and very rare. I believe they only ever made 1800 of them.
Extremely cute – Lots of people smile and wave at you when youโre driving round!
Whatโs not great about it (mostly age related):
Itโs an old vehicle with old technology – No electric windows or central locking etc.
No power steering but itโs a tiny, light van and it turns on a sixpence so it isnโt needed.
Small engine so it doesnโt go very fast but it can maintain a steady 60 mph if on the straight and flat.
There are some small patches of rust on the bodywork.
The furnishings and decor in the living and kitchen areas are showing their age.
Thereโs a small, cloudy chip on the windscreen thatโs been there as long as weโve had it (8 years) but it hasnโt changed. I showed it to an Autoglass technician a long time ago who said he couldnโt repair it. Itโs about (or less than) the size of a penny. It hasnโt changed and has never affected the MOT.
The driver and passenger seats are a little tatty.
None of these โnegativesโ are a barrier to the enjoyment of time away! Itโs a super-cosy, well designed van that is tiny and perfectly formed. Sheโs an old lady so she is starting to show her age. The van has wanted for nothing mechanically and has been maintained by the same mechanic for all that time. For servicing, it has never required much more than the usual consumables and it nearly always sails through its MoT test. We have most of the service history from since weโve owned it. Weโve used this cute and adorable little van regularly for the past 8 years, weโve enjoyed every minute and we love it to bits. Weโre only selling it because we need a vehicle with a bigger engine, with a view to towing a trailer.
