High-spec Ford Transit L3H3 campervan conversion designed to provide a comfortable, practical living space with excellent off-grid capability.
The interior has a modern grey finish with wood-effect worktops, extensive carpet lining and a feature slatted ceiling with integrated LED lighting. The flexible layout provides a spacious daytime seating/living area together with a large raised double bed and separate lower sleeping area.
The L-shaped kitchen has plenty of worktop and storage space and includes a twin-zone induction hob, SMEV stainless-steel sink with glass lid, 12V compressor fridge/freezer and fresh-water system. As cooking is electric, there is no need to carry LPG for the hob.
A major feature of the conversion is the high-capacity electrical system. It uses a 460Ah Fogstar Drift ECO lithium leisure battery, Victron Orion XS 50A DC-DC charger, Victron MPPT solar controller, roof-mounted solar panel and Victron SmartShunt battery monitoring. There is also a 230V inverter system, mains sockets and USB/12V charging throughout. The system provides substantial usable capacity for off-grid camping, with charging available from both solar and the vehicle while driving.
Heating is provided by a 2kW diesel heater with multiple outlets. The van also benefits from roof ventilation, LED ambient lighting, individual reading lights, large tinted camper windows with curtains and excellent storage throughout.
Externally there is an awning rail, side access step, roof-mounted solar and subtle mountain/forest graphics.
The conversion was designed around being genuinely usable for longer trips rather than relying on campsites and electric hook-up, while still providing a comfortable and attractive space for weekends away, touring and extended UK or European trips.
Flexible family sleeping layout with a large full-width raised double bed for 2 adults, plus a separate lower bed beneath. The upper bed can be stored/retracted during the day, creating a spacious seating and living area, then easily set up for sleeping at night. This provides separate upper and lower sleeping areas without permanently sacrificing the daytime living space. Individual reading lights and USB/12V charging are conveniently positioned around the sleeping area.
