Wet belt and timing belt done at 160000, new vacuum pump fitted last year, new sills done in 2023 & 2023 (right and left respectively), tyres in 2022, new injectors done by previous owners, all advisories on MOT addressed as they came up as I need the van to be reliable to travel around the country to climb year round.
Ex-Police vehicle and owned by Gloucestershire police up until 78k miles from memory.
Current snagging list (nothing that prevents it from running real nice, just to be transparent and reflected in the asking price):
1. Check engine light on – scanned and identified as an EGR valve, most likely being sticky during actuation as it’s an intermittent fault on the light. Normally stuck close and not affecting performance or economy. Easiest fix would be a ECU delete imho (classic thing done on these engines), but a new valve+manifold could also be fitted.
2. Roof rack whistles at 75+ mph, you can remove it if it’s really that much of a bother, I kept it to strap boulder pads to the roof when carrying a lot.
3. Parking break sheat slightly sticking if you leave brake on and the van standing for 5 days or so, easy fix but driving it a lot it was never an issue.
Purchased already converted in 3 years ago from a lovely couple in Gloucestershire that had mainly been using it for surfing trip, since then he has been used as a “climbers” van travelling left right and centre (Scotland, Lakes, South Coast, Peaks week-on-week-off) he’s not had the easy life some other vans have but it has never let me down, a real trooper of a van and ready for its next owner.
As the van has been purchased second hand already converted I cannot be 100% sure about the insulation installed but it is good enough to sleep in full winter in Scotland with only a light bag so plenty good for what I needed it to do.
To run off the features of the conversion:
-110 Leisure battery with split charge and voltage display inside the van
-Sink with electric pump, white water thanks and grey water thank
-Alpicool fridge on pullout draw under bed
-Ample storage within van for all the kit you can possibly need: big overhead compartment, two side cupboards, one medium cupboard above the sink and table, big one under sink, all the storage under the bed
-240v bypass socket to connect to camp and run anything you might want within the van (does not charge battery, is bypass only)
-Manual skylight with bug net
-All ply lined with LED internal lights
-External table on back doors
All in all a good conversion from the previous owner that has served me really well, bear in mind that I’m constantly using the van so it might not be valeted if you come and see it, what you see is what you’ll get.
Side couch that converts into pullout snug double bed (ok for 2, amazing for 1). Pullout split in two halves to allow for setting up without leaving the van.
