Volkswagen Transporter T5 SWB (2.0 TDI T28 Startline Diesel Manual L1 H1)
This is a short wheelbase Volkswagen transporter T5 with rear barn doors (called ‘Lunar’). It’s the 2.0 litre (84 Bhp) variant in startline trim and is diesel with a manual gearbox. The current mileage is a little under 150,000 miles, but I am using it daily for my commute to work which is about 4-5 miles (until I sell it, at which point I’ve told myself to ride my bike!). I am selling because I’ve upgraded to a much larger van.
Lunar has air conditioning, cruise control and MOT-safe belted seats for four people. I have had her entertainment system upgraded with a JVC Bluetooth head unit (KW-M560BT), powered from the leisure battery (for enjoyment whilst stationary) and have had the factory standard speakers replaced with better ones (Alpine SXE-1750S component 2 way speaker system). I have also had a reversing camera fitted that integrates with the head unit.
I have a full set of information that I can send on to interested parties, but in brief, she has a full service history – initially via main dealers and then using my trusted local (independent) garage. The MOT is due 10th October. Her timing belt was changed 23/06/22 and an oil change service was carried out 23/05/23. The VAT is already paid.
Lunar has been converted in several stages – initially by Van Doc (Worcester) and then T5 Kustom Vans (Warwick). The conversion consists of:-
• Front seats replaced with single passenger and single driver seats on swivels.
• MOT-safe rock and roll bed on sliders so that you can move the seats/bed forward and backward for extra storage in the back vs extra living space in the front. All seats are upholstered to match.
• Openable window on the side door, with a vanshade thermal blackout blind and a kiravans door store built in.
• An MV Aero 2 diesel heater.
• A 66Ah leisure battery that is conveniently situated under the bonnet to save on space
• An over bed locker and matching storage shelf, both with touch dimmable LED lighting strips. These are made by EvoMotion Design so anyone wanting to add additional units should be able to source ones to match (I can provide details).
• 6 x LED lights, USB charging points and leisure battery status indicator
• Cab divider curtains made by VanX
• Locks4Vans deadlocks fitted on all doors
Rusty lee rock and roll double bed upholstered to match the front seats and mounted on runners to slide forwards and backwards – 110cm wide by 190 cm long
