Citroen Relay L3H2
An excellent condition, immaculately maintained Citroen Relay 2.0L diesel 2017 model, recently converted to a high-quality campervan. The van comes with a top of the range cab, air conditioning and Bluetooth and USB media connection, cruise control (very useful on long trips in Europe!) and a multi-functional steering wheel. Parking sensors and Garmin parking camera coupled with the good visibility and light steering wheel make it a real pleasure to drive. It is in top condition both mechanically and aesthetically.
It has full service history and the last MOT had no advisories. Next MOT due November 2023. New brake pads AND discs have been fitted recently. Its 6-speed gearbox and efficient engine give 35 MPG on average, much better than most vans! The modern engine with AdBlue results in ULEZ compliance for driving into city centres. There were 2 diligent previous owners before me.
A recent conversion, finished to a high quality with a complete set of equipment for off-grid travelling in comfort. The previous owner took the time to find a base van in excellent condition, with low mileage and perfect service history to ensure the conversion is founded on a solid vehicle. The conversion has been designed with off-grid travelling and remote working in mind. Top of the range applicances have been selected throughout. Key features are listed below.
GENERAL LAYOUT:
~ 2 x side windows, 1 x rear door window, 2 x rooflights, and one opening into the front cab allow plenty of light in. All windows are fixed (non-opening) and tinted for privacy and security. Insulated, blackout curtains fit snugly into all windows to keep heat in and provide further privacy.
~ Bespoke fitted kitchen across front wall (behind cab) incorporates a balance of cupboard space and drawers to maximise storage around the fridge, sink, and hobs. The chamfered end to the kitchen unit provides space for smaller shelves and shoe storage on a doormat at the entrance.
~ Fold-up table with a sturdy swinging leg sits between two comfortable cushioned bench seats, giving space for 4 people to eat at the table.
~ Electrics live within one bench. The space heater lives beneath the other with a suspended shelf above it giving additional storage. Hinged bench lids allow easy access to all appliances.
~ Full size double bed oriented across the rear portion of the van with a foam mattress and bedside table to the rear, incorporating charge ports and storage. Cut-out in shelf lets you open the rear doors from the bed for sunny morning lie-ins!
~ Overhead storage units above bed and spacious compartment above cab combine to give good storage capacity for clothes, outdoors gear, books etc.
~ Handy spice rack above hobs.
~ Timber panelling is finished with a natural oil, and all paints are high-quality and low VOC to keep a healthy air quality inside the van.
~ Garage area in the boot beneath the bed is lined with waterproof, wipe-down vinyl for wet/muddy gear storage. I have kept the space open for the new owner to customise however you’d like.
GAS with sign off by a Gas-Safe engineer.
~ Underslung 25L LPG gas tank from Gastore. Electronic shut-off and level gauge inside van. High capacity tank can last for months of use between refills.
~ Propex Heatsource HS2000 air heater with digital thermostat. This is a top of the range applicance.
~ Dometic SMEV dual hob and sink with fold down lids for extra worktop space when desired.
~ Ciontra instant hot water shower reliably provides toasty hot showers even in the depths of Winter.
~ Shut-off valves adjacent to each appliance. All junctions in pipework are located underneath the van for additional safety. All joints carefully leak-tested.
ELECTRICS
~ 220Ah Xplorer high performance AGM leisure battery
~ 300W monocrystalline solar panel on roof
~ Renogy Rover 20A MPPT solar charger
~ Renogy 20A DC-DC charger tops up leisure battery while driving
~ Renogy 1kW inverter provides power to mains sockets allowing use of normal household gadgets and chargers.
~ Just Kampers JKF50 50L 12V fridge with freezer compartment. Campervan specific and very energy efficient.
~ 2 x Fiamma roof opening vents with fans for ventilation even on the hottest days.
~ 4G WiFi router from TP-Link with antenna on van roof gives reliable WiFi for remote working. Switch next to WiFi allows power saving when not required.
~ USB charge ports in living area and next to bed
~ Overhead warm white spotlights switched in three pairs to tailor the mood as you desire.
~ 4 x warm white swivelling reading lights around bed
~ 2 x warm white swivelling wall lamps above kitchen worktop
~ 2 x bright strip lights in boot area
WATER
~ 100L of water storage in boot area. I chose to install 4x25L jerry cans which can be removed and filled out in the wild, giving greater flexibility than a system which must be filled from a hose. For example, the cans could be filled from a mountain stream out on a big adventure!
~ Dometic sink with hinge-down tap in kitchen
~ Shurflo fresh water pump with filter maintains a strong, reliable flow to the sink and shower
~ Fiamma A20 campervan-specific expansion tank keeps a steady pressure in the system
There is a full size double bed across the back of the van, mattress dimensions are 190x135cm.
