Mercedes Sprinter 313 CDI MWB
Engine is in excellent condition. We have maintained the vehicle to a high standard, including recently replacing: front brakes, discs and calipers, power steering belt, prop shaft, and electronic ignition switch. We also upgraded the stereo system to include a custom head unit, new door speakers, and a subwoofer, meaning you get great sound, even at high speeds!
The body of the van is generally in good condition. We’ve treated rust as it has come through, meaning the paint finish is uneven in places, and there is some rust that still needs treatment.
Firefly was converted into the beautiful home it is today by a Glastonbury carpenter. Thanks to his careful craftsmanship, Firefly is full of beautiful and quirky wooden features, including the live edge along the kitchen counter and the nifty shoe compartment.
The main cabin includes a large counter at the front, with a gorgeous copper sink (with foot pedal water pump) alongside a new gas cooker with two hobs, oven, and grill. Tucked away in the corner is the wood-burning stove (a cyclops from Glastonbury burners). The side bench lifts up to reveal a 12v chest fridge, as well as storage space for wood/kindling/whatever you like. The main cabin space feels large thanks to the bed, which slides away in daytime mode. Storage-wise, there are two overhead cupboards above the bed, three under bench storage compartments, and a cupboard in the front. There is also a large garage area under the bed, which houses the Gas Safe LPG setup.
The electrics are powered by a flexi solar panel, which provides plenty of power throughout the year, as well as the split charge relay to keep things topped up. The leisure battery, solar charge controller, and inverter are housed under the passenger bench seating in the front. A panel in the back provides 2 USB ports, a cigarette lighter style power socket, and voltage reading.
Firefly’s ultra-comfortable bed is wider than a king-sized bed, but not as long. This makes it ideal for 2 adults to sleep in, and you could easily fit a child for a three-in-the-bed adventure! The 168cm-wide bed pulls out and assembles (with the help of a memory foam, custom-cut block) to a full length of 175cm. The overhang out into the main living space means you won’t sleep with your toes crumpled up against a wall – just ask the 6”5 climber who traipsed all over Scotland in this van! The chunky, comfy mattress will tempt you back at the end of a day spent enjoying the outdoors. Better yet, there’ll be no waking up with bad sofa cushion back pain in the morning! Please note bedding is included, so you don’t have to bring any of your own.
