Bombproof very desirable Mercedes Sprinter 311 engine
This model is old (it’s her 20th birthday this year) but I bought her because of the reliability of this particular modle. There are all sorts of problems with the 2007 onward Sprinters but this one will go on forever!
Alloy box so no chance of rust
Bit of rust on the cab and chassis but very good for age
I am a carpenter by trade and have built 10-12 trucks and vans over the last 10 years mostly for other people but this is the latest one I built for myself, and it was built with livability at the core of the design:
Firstly I decided on a base vehicle which will go forever.
She’s very well insulated, stays warm in winter and cool in summer (ask for pictures and specs).
She’s got a lot of kitchen space and storage.
She’s got a very effective solar/battery setup so in the summer she will run a fridge and charge all your electricals no problem.
Wood burner is small and efficent. Easy to regulate tempreture in the winters.
windows are set high, so no one can see in but you can check whats going on outside.
I designed and built her to be quirky and cosy but also using sustainable materials, I processed all the cladding myself from locally sourced Douglas fur. All other joinery is oak and birchply.
I have recently touched up the paint work and I have paint to cover up the design on the sides if you wanted plane green. Aslo, I am happy to make any alterations to the truck if you had any ideas after seeing her.
