tinted rear and side windows with 95% limo-tint for privacy. It means you cant see in from the outside but light and limited vision is offered from the inside looking out. This conforms to legislation as the windscreen and drivers/passenger side windows remain with the standard light tint.
Immediately behind the two front seats is a cross-locker at seat height that sits above what was the old footwell for the rear seat passengers. This locker was deep enough to hold the new leisure battery, all the electrical components for 240V master switch, RCD fuse panel and battery charger, along with the fuse panel for the 12v cabin electrics and the split charge relay and cabling for the leisure battery. There was still room to sit a couple of boxes above all this electrical gear, below the locker lid to store plates. cutlery, everyday cooking components and utensls, cleaning products etc. It has a hinged lid which then supports a rear facing seating foam base.
On the passenger side of the van is a full length unit, to window height infront of the sliding door and at full roof height in the former rear luggage area. The space infront of the sliding door has the two burner hob and sink unit inset into a work top with glass hinged covers. The roof height rear section houses two cupboards for cloths and personal effects. Below window level this space is accessed from the passenger sliding door (for fresh water and grey waste water holding containers, portapotti storage and gas bottle) or the rear hatch door (for fridge access which slides out on runners)
Across the rear of the van and occupying the rest of the width is a “rock and roll” seat/bed unit with storage under for a pantry or further personal storage. During the day this serves as a cross seat unit with foam base and back cushions. At night an integrated extension section pulls out from below the base and the seat base/back collapse forward to form a full length bed base abutting the front locker and seat unit.
Finished off with an “as-new” Thule roof box and rails, there is large amount of additional storage if required or it can be removed and left at home if you just want to travel light. Its really useful for some luxuries like comfy folding camping chairs, folding picnic table, shower/toilet tent etc to make live very comfortable on a campsite.
Everything works on 12 volt from the leisure battery which I have tested to run everything for at least 4 days without recharging. Charging can be done by running the car engine or by hooking up to 240Volt and using the inbuilt 2 stage leisure battery charger. Whilst hooked up to 240Volt (standard caravan 3 pin hookup installed on side of van beside diesel filler flap) you can run the fridge on 240 volts and have access to 2 further 3 pin sockets for other appliances and accessories
It has a towbar with full electrics
Details of the base vehicle are as follows:-
FIAT Doblo Dynamic 1.9 JTD 5 door
Registered 25-11-2006. MOT expires 28th November 2022.
service book and owners manual.
Only faults I can identify:-
Paint lacquer peel in one 2 inch area on the bonnet and scratch on black offside bumper (photos shown)
Central locking can be temperamental (still locks) Think this requires a new control module unit which would fix this.
Otherwise clean and tidy and drives well.
Comes will a full tank of diesel!
