Egbert is a 2010 reg Peugeot Expert with 115,000 miles. A great runner for a car like drive, well looked after with reliable engine and new clutch. Bodywork good all round. Previous owner had van for 7 years only for cash and carry picks ups and the van’s condition shows its light use. Used regularly by me for trips to the south coat and Cornwall.

Egbert whilst like a car to drive, is really rather spacious inside. Egbert has storage for 75 litres of fresh water in 3 x 25 litre Blue Diamond jerry cans. The Barwig submersible water pump whilst narrow enough to fit inside these jerry cans, is also sufficiently powerful to provide a decent shower operated with a switch conveniently located on the inside of the back door pillar. The chrome tap not only has both water column and shower modes but also the spray head swivels and pulls out with a 150cm extendable hose. This can be hand held or used with the suction holder for an outdoor shower / wetsuit, boots, dog sluice down, you get the idea.
The spacious Vevor 35 litre fridge/ freezer has both 12V & 240V charging, so it could be charged at home via 240V mains prior to use. In the camper you have the option to charge the fridge on either the van 12V system or the leisure battery 12V system, giving great flexibility to keep your food – and your drinks – cold. The fridge can also be removed and carried down to the beach or wherever you wish (to drink those beers, G&T, Prosecco – plenty of room for whatever you fancy!)
For cooking, Egbert has an Outdoor Revolution COOK2105 stove with two rings and a grill (with grill pan) and uses camping gas butane-propane mixture cartridges. It has a very effective windproof baffle which in conjunction with the pullout drawer of the storage unit, enables alfresco cooking when the weather is suitable, or can alternatively be used inside on the solid oak hand crafted counter.
The LED ceiling lights have a touch sensitive dimmer switch and the angled reading lights each side at the rear of the van are also dimmable. Throughout the van there are multiple 12V sockets, USB C and USB sockets to allow easy charging for phones and other gadgets. There are also additional USB sockets in the cab.
The floor is professionally covered in herringbone pattern Karndean and whilst hidden from view, the (whole) van has been thoroughly insulated with multiple layers of specialised automotive sound deadening and thermal insulation from DODO MAT – a British Soundproofing Company. The insulation consists of 2mm Silent Coat sound deadening, 10mm Dodo super liner Thermo Acoustic Insulation as well as 50mm Dodo Thermo fleece insulation.
Two fans, a solar powered vent and a wind powered vent provide good ventilation in any weather.
The roof rack is custom designed from profiled aluminium and built for robust use (potentially to have deck fitted).
The 110Ah leisure battery was bought new for Egbert and is charged by both a split relay and a 60W solar panel via a Victron Energy MPPT solar charge converter. All of which means you and Egbert can be off grid but keep everything functioning.
All the interior woodwork has been created from birch plywood which has been finished with Danish Oil to provide a wonderfully smooth surface whilst maintaining the beauty of the wood.
In addition to the substantial hand crafted oak counter, there is a folding oak table, attached to the inside of the port side rear door.
All these little details make life with Egbert effortlessly easy.
Expertly converted into a two berth camper, the internal arrangement of seats and storage has been specifically designed to enable comfortable seating which converts easily to a long 203 x 121 cm double bed. The bespoke, made to measure cushions were professionally manufactured in Great Britain. The deep foam cushions are lined with an additional layer of polyester wadding to provide maximum comfort (for both sitting and sleeping) and the covers are removable and waterproof – perfect when you return from a swim or a surf, hike or dog walk or even if the weather decides not to behave / isn’t quite perfect!
