Conversion Description

We travel to Brighton regularly so let us know if you are there and interested! (or anywhere on the way between Yorkshire and Brighton!)

We bought the van already converted with electrics and solo already fitted. Everything else inside the van we have reconverted ourselves including the hidden bathroom with a shower tray, gas locker with a dropout vent for safety, and 12 V pump for the water. The kitchen and bed we also built. It is lived in – definitely has signs of use, but on the other hand we (2 of us) have lived in it for two years – which is a testament to its functionality. We usually shower at the gym or swimming pool – but there is a shower tray and we can throw in a USB shower for free if you are desperate to have a shower in the van.

It is an old van, and does definitely have signs of age. We did a really good job at treating spots early on the inside and out (I think we have pictures of the floor before the conversion somewhere if you want them for peace of mind). We have also treated that awful problem that VW Crafter and Mercedes have which is letting water in through the bumper clips – they have all been stuck in with silicone to make them waterproof. The main problems are one of the back doors and the sliding door which are rusting badly in the corners. Replacements for the bottoms of the door cost around £40-£60 Plus welding – or you can replace the doors. They still work, so this is not something that we have bothered to fix yet. There’s a bit of surface rust here and there, but our mechanic in Brighton swears that this van has loads of life left in it and is like a tank underneath. The handbrake is also not very strong (unless you are a bodybuilder yourself), and we’ve had this adjusted quite a few times – it might need replacing at some point.
During his time with us, Vector has also had new brake pads fitted – amongst a few other things – we have the receipts for most of it. The electrics are a bit temperamental and sometimes beep or show flashing lights, but this is a problem that it’s had the whole time we’ve had it and has never been an MOT fail, and has never affected the functionality of the van.

I hope you appreciate the honesty and can imagine making our beloved Vector a cozy home or holiday home like we did!

We are only selling because we live in a house now and want something much smaller that we can use as a daily vehicle and for holidays.
We’d be open to a part exchange for a micro camper!
