VW Caddy Maxi
Hattie is a beautiful off grid Volkswagen Caddy Maxi camper. She is only 4.8m long so very easy to drive and park whilst economical to run. The perfect size to be your daily runaround & your weekend camper all in one! Fully converted in September 2022 by thesecretvanman to take her from a working van to a mini home on wheels. This includes a new compressor fridge, elegant colour scheme throughout, new flooring and kitchen unit with stunning sink for a fresh and cosy new look. She has solar power on the roof rack, along with space for your kayak or paddle board, so you really can go off on the adventures of your dreams without having to plan around power.
The interior design is one of the secretvanman’s bespoke campervan colour themes that really stands out from the crowd. There’ll be no grey carpet & dark plastic units here! We also know how important it is that we maximise the use of space. The fridge unit encompasses a good size pantry section, whilst there is plenty of easy to use storage running the length of the sofa. A simple pull out system is in place to create the two berth bed. The kitchen unit & multi pocket backseat organisers complete the storage options.
The kitchen has 1m of usable worktop, perfect for a portable stove or for doing your makeup in the morning! I have since added a pull down/fold away shelf & a shelf on the left barn back door especially for a small calor gas single burner stove to be able to cook or boil a kettle for a cuppa whilst standing up outdoors. In addition the sink & hand pump tap provide running water, which is housed underneath one end of the unit in two 10 litre containers that are easily removable for filling & emptying.
Electrics wise, a 100W solar panel provides power, via a Victron MPPT charge controller, to the leisure battery. Running from this are two USB charging ports, LED lights & an 18L fridge. All the electrics were installed by a professional auto technician. Sony car play system installed by Halfords in June 2024.
I have a waterproof canopy that can easily be put up for shade over either the side or back doors. Various camping items available as extras.
