Campervans for Sale All-Seasons, Off-Grid, L2H2 Boxer Camper Van
Peugeot Boxer 335 Pro L2H2 Blue HDI
I’m sad but also pleased to be able to share my Boxer conversion. It’s the fourth van I’ve designed and used and by far my favorite, so benefits from all the lived-wisdom and practical testing of many years van-lifeing! The all black exterior of this boxer conversion looks really slick and the light oiled wood with black and dark grey detailing inside really ties together the feel without making the inside dingey or souless! Full details below and a full video tour of the van available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oplOq0q-0EM
BASE VEHICLE:
The van is a 2019 model with AdBlue (all working fine), so great for anyone needing to enter cities with a ULEZ zone (no charge!)
The van has been serviced regularly, and always performs brilliantly. No known mechanical or service issues except the passenger electric window not working from the driver side button (works from the passenger side). Just this week I’ve noticed a dead spot on the aftermarket touch screen radio/carplay unit, but I’ll try to look at this when I get the chance (I’ve still been using it fine).
There is only a partial service history since August 2023 as the dealership I bought it from lost the records from before my ownership. It was fully serviced and bought with a warranty though, and I’ve had very few issues in the two and a half years of ownership, always sorting any issue immediately.
The timing belt and water pump has just been replaced a couple of months ago, giving the new owner peace of mind! Records and proof of work from my ownership period all provided.
Medium Wheelbase (L2H2) – Fits in normal parking spaces!
1997 CC Engine
30-35mpg
6 Gears
Cruise Control / Limiter
Air Conditioning
Electric Windows
Touch screen console/DAB radio with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Bodywork: Some light scratches and chips (mainly hedge/branches) and a cracked part of the plastic molding on the back driver side corner. None of the scuffs are especially big or apparent, however, and I’ve tried to show them in the video tour. As it’s black, it would probably be quite straightforward to touch up if wanted but I’ve never found any of them noticeable enough!
This conversion was designed with long-term adventuring / full-time living in mind. It’s the forth conversion I’ve designed and I’ve spent a lot of time in each conversion, so there is a real attention to detail and little quality of life things that make long term van-lifing easier (IMO). I’ve really put this conversion to the test over the last two years, and it’s worked brilliant for me as a solo adventurer, taking it all around the UK and spending lots of time off-grid in the woods and remote parts of the UK. As a writer, it’s been geared up not only for comfortable living, but also long days of working at the desk without getting back ache!
The substantial electrical system is designed for full-time use, even in winter when there is less sun, so no need to plug in at campsites!
The light wood interior and warm lighting strips keeps the van feeling bright inside, even with the black/dark grey detailing to compliment the all black and tint exterior.

KITCHEN:
– Large kitchen sink with chopping board topper.
– Quiet, pressure activated water pump and jerry cans for cold water (2x20L) and waste (1 x 20L). Underslung tank or hot water could be added if required (tap has unused hot inlet).
– Gas-free, all electric cooking.
– 2 x 240v power sockets for kitchen appliances (up to 3000w total)
– Daewoo SDA2618GE 26L 1500W 2-in-1 Air Fryer & Microwave Oven (absolute vanlife gamechanger and brilliant!)
– Low watt kettle and portable double induction top included, if desired.
– Large Alpicool (TA45 45L) Compressor Fridge Freezer in insulated box to increase efficiency and provide extra seat. Very efficient and can go down to -20 Celsius with individually controlled compartments. Manual controls or a handy app. Mains plug included if you ever want to use elsewhere.
LIVING & WORKING:
– Two 90cm wide benches with thick backrests – very comfortable for long days of writing or working!
– Large table which can be positioned very flexibly. Slots away under the bed leaving just a handy shelf for your cup of tea.
– Very quick to set up removeable shelf for using a laptop, keyboard and mouse comfortably
– 2 x 240v sockets, 12v socket and 4 x USB sockets all close to table
– 4G Wifi router (EE but unlocked) with Poynting LTE/5G (2×2 MIMO) roof Antenna – used all over the UK to get reliable signal where my phone couldn’t! I’ve done heaps of video calls from the van in very remote locations, so can really vouch for this setup!
– Thetford Toilet (included or not, as wanted) in large sliding drawer beneath kitchen
– Taylors 079D Stove (picks up diesel fuel from the main van tank, gives cozy glow and radiative heat rather than the loud blown air style). These styles of diesel stove are popular on boats and are designed for heavy use, lots of movement, with very little to go wrong. I’ve never worked out precise fuel use, but it’s very economical when set to low/medium – perhaps 0.1-0.2L per hour. I had planned to fit a blown air heater in addition under the bench seat, but loved this one so much that I never bothered! There is custom made rack on top that I used to pre-heat water and save on kettle electrical use in winter – I can include the metal water canisters, if desired.
STORAGE
– Very large cupboard over the cab
– 4 spacious overhead cupboards along length of van
– Very large cupboard under sink (room to store lots of extra things along with water and waste)
– Various little cuddies/shelves (below stove and on walls)
– Big garage area below bed
– Plenty of space for a solo living/working full-timer or adventuring couple
ELECTRICAL
– This electrical system is speced for full time living without stress.
– Fogstar Drift 460ah Lithium leisure battery – brilliant battery with protection features and helpful app. I’ve done 4 days without driving or sun (for recharging), using lights, laptop all day, cooking one hot meal a day, and making MANY cups of tea. When driving and in sunny months, I’ve never worried about using power!
– 50 amp and 20 amp official Fogstar Drift mains chargers if you do need to top up quickly! (Can be used together for 70ah charging)
– 60 amp Renogy DC-DC (Battery to Battery) charger – for charging the leisure battery from the van alternator when driving
– 460 watts of solar panels bolted onto roof, via Victron 100v 50amp MPPT Charge Controller with Bluetooth and app (It can easily charge 2kWh, around 160ah, from Solar on a sunny day, obviously less in winter or dark days)
– 3000W 12V to 230V/240V Pure Sine Wave Inverter – powers Air Fryer/Microwave combo and the two 3 pin plugs with USBs by kitchen/bench. Can be turned on and by easy access switch to stop passive drain
– All fused with various isolation options and oversized cables for peace of mind
– Dimmable 2 zone warm defused lighting strips
– Rechargeable reading/bed light
– 12v appliances: 4g Wifi router, water pump, stove/diesel pump, MaxxAir extractor fan, 2 x USB ports by bed, 12v cigarette lighter socket
– Consumer unit and external socket for mains hookup not fitted but included if you wanted to install later (I planned to, but never needed it in the end)
GENERAL/OTHER
– Access to cab via folding stable door great for winter and wet weather!
– Well insulated for winter use (including the door to the cab)
– Sliding windows on side door and rear doors
– Insulated window panels that ensure TOTAL blackout
– MaxxAir Fan above kitchen
– Large garage area (bed can slide forward to give really clear access)
The permanent single bed is 80x178cm. I happen to be exactly 178cm too and a side sleeper and have always found it to be comfortable and enough room for me alone, so rarely expand to the double. The slats slide out, however, and you can add the bench cushions in make a wider bed. You can add either the 35cm back rests, 50cm base cushions or both (to make the bed either 115, 130, or 170cm wide). The largest setup feels very nice and you can really sprawl out!
You can also use the bench cushions to make a slightly shorter, 90cm wide second single bed at the seat height if you have two people who don’t want to share a bed.
Mattress and cushions are cut from a memory foam mattress and I’d describe them as medium firm. Very comfy for sleeping or long days sat working on the benches!
