We self-converted this van over 3 years ago and it has since had several up-grades as we have been living in it full time. During that time, it has driven us all over Europe, to the Arctic Circle, all the way to Turkey and Cyprus and all the way back home. We have made countless memories in her, but now it’s time for someone else to do the same. We are pricing to sell Beut only because we really will not have space for her and it is a shame to put her in storage.

Beut is a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter she has just done 190,000 miles – with a recent full service with Mercedes and new front and rear brake pads (Sprinter vans do usually well over 400,000) and has had numerous upgrades – we have provided a detailed explanation of what is included in the van – but as a basic summary:

800 amp Lithium Life PO4 battery bank with all Victron Electric set up
High level of security features (bond locks/immobiliser/cameras/tracker
Truma combi-boiler for quick hot water and heating (installed by Truma directly into our diesel tank)
Separate wet room with shower and toilet and self-cleaning door
9ft long kitchen with induction hob and electric oven and large fridge
6ft couch facing side door (so you can appreciate the wonderful views you will see) that also pulls out to form another small double bed – or great for movie nights.
Air Conditioning (installed last year) and Apple Car play navigation upgrades in the cab.

Exterior
Professionally painted (where they took out any bumps and treated any rusts that had been caused previously)
Two ‘pods’ installed on either side of the van which means we can have our king-sized bed sideways. Again these have been installed professionally, both bonded and riveted.
Lifted the van by 50mm – both front and back – again done professionally
Had triple leaf-spring and 5 ton shock installed professionally so that we have a smoother ride and also that the we can carry a heavier load on our rear.
Wind-deflectors on both the cab doors and bonnet.
Professionally fitted windows on the side sliding door and on the two rear doors.
Brand new Maxxis Bighorn 764s Mud Terrain tyres recently installed.
4 light bars installed – 2 at the front for use whilst driving in the dark and the others above the side and back doors.
Wheel Liams wheel carrier installed to the back to carry the spare tyre
2 x Maxxair Fans (one in bedroom and 1 in the kitchen
2 X Skylights (1 large over the bed to watch the stars and 1 in the living room for extra light and ventilation)
Brand new windscreen – as we have had a few chips
Exterior shower
Wifi aerial booster on roof

We have also installed several security features (costing upwards of £4,000.)
4 exterior cameras – creating a 360 degree view (we can access the pictures from our phone when we are away from the van). These have also been painted the same colour as our exterior. Great security feature and also great whilst driving (provides view of lanes on either side and rear view when reversing. We also have 2 more cameras installed internally.
Bond locks on both the side and back doors – these are upgraded versions of slam locks that are riveted to the structure of the van from the inside. They can only be opened by special key fobs. Even if someone gets in the van, they will find it difficult to open the doors from the inside.
Two Heo Safe locks on the cab doors – can be locked from the inside.
Ghost Immobiliser – i.e. you need to know the code that we enter to then be able to turn the van over.
Tracker that can be viewed on an app via your phone. I.e. if someone manages to steal the van (got through all the locks and somehow overridden the immobiliser) then you can see where the van is located. Also great for seeing where you have driven etc.
Safe – large enough for laptops and comes with 2 X keys

Mechanically we have upgraded the alternator (in order that we can run the air conditioner and the 2 DC-DC chargers (see under electrics)
Full service (oil change, oil filters changed air filter change) and new brake pads carried out in May 2023 by Mercedes
New back door locks
Van is booked in for an upgrade for the airbags done by Mercedes booked in for early June

Electrics

We have recently done a large upgrade to the electrics prior to going to Turkey so we have honestly lost track of how much we have spent on the electrics – but it’s a lot (easily £15k+). The van now has:
All Victron Energy system consisting of:
Victron 3000w Multiplus inverter
Victron lynx distributor
Victron 150-35 MPPT
2 X 30amp Victron Orion DC-DC non-isolated charges – literally charges our batteries at a high speed whilst we drive
Victron battery protect
Victron smart shunt – 500amps
Victron Cerbo Module screen – allows us to monitor the whole system through a touch screen and can be accessed remotely

Other

A huge 800 a/h Li life po4 batteries with built in battery management system (accessed remotely via an app on your phone)
525w solar – 3 x 175w flexible Renogy panels
British electric RCD panel for 230w
Master cut-off switch (both for the main system and also the solar system separately).

Internally
Truma D4E boiler powered either/ or diesel and/ or electric (hot water within 15 mins and heating in minutes without any annoying clicking sounds). Installed professionally by Truma.
Heating vents into the shower, bedroom, living room and garage.
King sized bed – with brand new mattress bought for the new owners included. As we have the pods fitted, even someone up to 6F 3 inches should still be able to sleep well.
Bed frame is made of aluminium profiles – so incredibly strong

Shower

Full wet room with both hand-controlled shower head and waterfall shower head.
Simploo composting toilet – fitted with either bottle or urine separator into the black tank, underslung under the van, controlled via a switch.
Nautilus self-cleaning shower door

Kitchen

9ft long solid walnut countertop
2 ring induction hob
Electric oven
Ceramic Belfast sink with large tap
Separate infrared water filter – allows you to be able to drink water safely
130L Isotherm fridge and small freezer compartment
Touch light LEDs underneath the cabinet so that you do not have a shadow when cooking at night.

Living room

6ft slide out couch – with professionally made cushions. Pulls out to a small double bed – or comfy spot to watch Netflix!
4 drawer compartment underneath the couch for clothes etc
Multiple plug sockets and 12v USB outlets
Front passenger seat swivels round to create more sociable seating. This seat also has a table (made from the same worktop as the kitchen) which is great for working on.

Bedroom

Fixed King Size bed – width ways. We will be providing a brand new memory foam mattress with the purchase for hygiene reasons.
Two lights that also have USB charging
Heating vent
Skylight and Maxxair fan
Curtain that separates the bedroom from the rest of the van
230v plug point incase you want to use laptop etc in bed

*Please note*
We recently had Beut weighed and she came in at 3.7t which is slightly over what she should be. So to make sure she is fully road compliant we have just applied to get the weight rating increased (which also means a lower tax rate). This does mean that if you wish to drive the van fully legally, we recommend that you do a C1 licence (unless you already have a driving licence that was issued before 1997). If you do not do this and the van is pulled over then you can incur a fine of up to £100 (if up to 10% over weight – the van is currently well under this, but you may wish to consider this if you are adding additional weight).
