Low mileage for a classic (1987).
2.5L NAD engine, refurbished in 2010.
1 previous owner before myself.
Starts first time. Excellent condition, no known issues.
Hard top roof (higher with internal roll cage, and ideal for a camper). I panelled out the roof and made into a camper, and have used all over the UK for surfing those hard to get to spots. Currently this has been removed, and is ideal as a base vehicle.
Exmoor trim seats in the front and exmoor bench seats in the back with seat belts.
High quality roll cage fitted, 5x reinforced ‘wolf’ wheels. Safe and built for off road driving. I have taken it off roading, and it has surpassed modern Range Rovers in it’s ability (much to the owner’s disgust!)
It has been well looked after, and serviced yearly. There is no sign of bulk head rot, and the engine and underside of the vehicle are in excellent condition.
It has recently had new tyres.
I have replaced the cam belt and head gasket in 2021.
Battery replaced in 2022.
Exhaust, fuse box, starter motor, prop shaft, alternator, fan belt, spark plugs, shock absorbers, wipers, horn all recently updated/replaced.
Breaks serviced.
New rubber mat in rear.
Lighter attachment added in front.
Locks recently updated.
Oil seals and fuel pump professionally refurbished. Sound proofing added.
I have plenty of extras, that you are welcome to, including a spare fuse box, an alternate grille for the front, and a spare reinforced wheel.
This car has been my pride and joy, and I have been on many a surf trip with it. I am 6ft tall and can lie down flat in the back. Roll cage allows you to fit cladding securely underneath, without the need for nails/screws, and the internal bars allow attachment of surfboards etc! Having recently become a father, I’ve upgraded to a sprinter van, as it became a bit cosy for three humans and two large dogs. If you’re a surfer, or prefer to venture off the beaten path, this van is ideal.

Currently had the bed and roofing removed to update, but lots of modifications added as mentioned. I’ve replaced the important bits (cam belt, prop shaft etc) in the last few years.
Reluctantly selling as the two of us (and two large dogs) have now become three, and have upgraded to a sprinter.
Just like sprinters, defenders hold their value really well and are dependable, reaching very high mileages and still ticking over. Body is mostly aluminium, so won’t get rusty.

No beds in current build, as removed for general sale, but tonnes of pre-made beds on the market for land rovers. Can comfortably seat two in the back, or three at a push, but a fold down bed could be made to attach to the internal roll cage for when stationary.
