Unique Landrover Defender , special body designed and built on a 130 chassis by renowned Landrover specialists in London, with all uprated suspension and mechanics ( Originally robust build for Tour Company in Ireland) . Now a rustic camping Car with home built very practical interior , utilising ex Swift Caravan luxury “L” shaped side and rear seating which also provides easy sleeping for one ( see photos) or converts to comfy double bed for 2.
Huge amount of easy access storage in cupboards, under bench seats or beneath suspended floor. Beech preparation work surface with matching Beech detachable dining table. High level full width small bed for child “up top” or as I use as huge storage for easy accesible bedding etc etc.
Fully insulated body ( see build photo) , twin 40 litre water insulated tanks in floor “sandwich” so no freezing, sink, gas dble hob, Alpicool Fridge/Freezer, Microwave, secret storage hidden under floor to secure valuables, custom over cab roof rack, LED headlights, adjustable rear tow bar with elecs and reverse camera, Satnav. Heiki roof light with fly screen and blackout blind. 300 Watt Solar Panel ( Charged my independent 2400kwh Lithium Portable power pack, not included, and gave total Offgrid camping capability) . 4 New Goodrich All Terrain tyres, rear mounted spare with Goodrich, 2.5 x 2m Awning.
Superb Td5 2.5 litre diesel engine, engine management upgrade to Stage 1 gives fantastic drive ability, acceleration and reduces mpg ( Recent Euro trip gave 31mpg).
3 front seat belts ( central seat with lapbelt, seat not provided as I have a Cubby box).
4 access doors to rear living space provide new owners huge flexibility to completely change internal layout if required. All doors also give access to underfloor storage. Folding step access to living space and open access to driving seat from living space ( great if terrible weather or feeling insecure where parked as no need to exit to drive away) . Side Steps to both driver and passenger doors.
This eye catching ( you’ll get a lot of attention on the road and always a friend to chat to on campsites curious to see your rig !) is a real “ go anywhere” offroad 4×4 camper, with space, comfort, flexibility and huge storage. Long MOT to May 2027, new Gearbox 2025.
