Nissan Elgrand
Imported in 2017 and converted as a camper van, this Elgrand (Nicknamed ‘Betsy’) is in excellent condition – indeed at its recent service & MOT the mechanic said it was “one of the best of these I have worked on.” The engine is in terrific condition and will go on for ever.
Its MOT is valid until mid August 2023
It has. V6 petrol engine so it’s quite heavy on the petrol (20MPG if you travel fast) but it is a great drive. Comfortable, smooth and surprisingly fast (if that’s what you are after).
The prices includes a wonderful awning which attaches to the side and gives massive space and comfort (and then you have a cosy dining area inside the van). But you can sleep in the van too.
The van has a sink and two gas rings at the back. It has three ground level compartments for storage, and storage cupboards on both side of the back window.
The central ‘cushion’ of the back bench can be removed. Underneath is a table unit which, when attached to a railing under the sink unit, gives a good dining area, which the two outside ‘benches’ serving as comfortable seats.
The roof can be raised to a 45 degree angle. There is then a space for storage etc. Two zipped semi circles in the side can be folded down to let light in (and with a wire mesh to prevent insects etc)
There are curtains on the windows and two hanging curtains behind the from seats.
The reversible second row seats can be turned round and made flat so that the bed area is revealed.
The second row seats can be reversed and made flat so that a mattress can be placed on top of them to make a very comfortable double berth.
Alternatively 2/3 can be reversed to make a comfortable and generous single bed. still leaving a bit of space for manoeuvrability.
