🔧 Mabel has benefited from a thoughtful programme of recent investment and preventative maintenance. We have put considerable money into the mechanicals, bodywork and rust protection, with the aim of keeping her reliable, well cared for and ready to be enjoyed.
Recent improvements include replacement brake discs and pads, front lower suspension arms, offside-front drop link, oil seal, thermostat and water pump.
She was serviced on 18 May 2026 with fresh engine oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, engine flush, diesel treatment, coolant and associated service items.
🛡️ The bodywork has also had significant investment. Inner sill welding and replacement of the driver’s door step-well section have been completed, followed by a full two-tone repaint. The lower section and sills have been treated with protective anti-rust paint, giving added resilience against wet weather, road grime and Devon lanes.
🎒 As we are moving abroad, Mabel can also come with a useful bundle of camping and travel extras if wanted. This includes plates, bowls, cutlery, salt and pepper grinder, chopping board, pillows, camper chairs, outdoor hammock with bivvy, awning attachment, extension cable, jump leads, Europe driving kit, pressure washer with attachments, spare paint, toilet fluid, antifreeze/coolant, WD-40 and a few other practical bits.
We are happy to include everything for the next owner, or remove any of it if you would prefer the van without.
🏕️ Mabel has a handmade self-build conversion that is warm, practical and genuinely comfortable for weekends away or longer trips.
The interior has timber finishes, white cabinetry, colourful tiled details and plenty of useful storage. It feels characterful without being overdone, with a layout that makes good use of the long-wheelbase van.
The rear fixed bed is one of Mabel’s best features. It is a generous double and extends easily to king-size, making it properly comfortable for two adults. There is storage around and beneath the bed, plus a rear garage area for outdoor gear, tools and everyday essentials.

⚡ The conversion is supported by 12V leisure electrics, USB sockets, leisure battery, split-charge relay and solar panel. The solar and leisure system are kept separate from the vehicle starter battery.
Mabel is a practical camper with a comfortable bed, a simple usable living space and enough storage to make travelling easy rather than cramped.
Fixed bed which extends to a king size very easily. My husband is 6ft 2 and sleeps like a log, outstretched. Full length of bed is 200cm
