MAN Custom Built 7.5T Chassis
It is hard to know where to start with this! Welcome to the sad sale of our motorhome aka The Road Runner.
First thing is first… this is a 7.5T vehicle, so you would need a class 2 licence to drive it, or “grandfather rights” (which means you must have passed you driving test before 1997.) She is 33 foot long, which can be tricky, but it also means you have unrivalled space for living in. If you are used to driving bigger vehicles, it is a piece of cake and it pulls like a train. Starts first time every time.
It is a 2000 MAN chassis with only 78,000 miles on it (which is absolutely nothing for a vehicle of its calibre). It was originally a flat bed truck but was converted in c.2007 and had the camper van body built on it. The guys who did it have done it to an exceptionally high spec, everything in it is made solid and with quality materials.
It was 100% custom built for the owner before us who had owned it as the flat bed truck. My dad purchased the vehicle back in 2009, he has been meticulous with the vehicle, in terms of the engine maintenance and inside of it too. In the winters he has stored it in a decommissioned heated aircraft hangar, that was how keen he was on avoiding water ingress! It has a full comprehensive service history and has never wanted for anything.
The truck has been serviced to within an inch of it’s life! My dad only used it twice a year, hence the mileage being so low) Over the past couple of years that we have had it, we have given her a bit of love as well. It had a full respray late last year and we have made a few alterations in it too.
The camper is split off in to 3 sections, the living area, bathroom and a back bedroom.
She is pure luxury on wheels. It comes with everything you would expect and then some.
