Campervan Description

Edlington Van Company is delighted to list our most recent conversion. Charlie Van is a cleverly designed bespoke build based on a long wheelbase, high roof Citroën Relay.
This campervan features a 6-speed gearbox and a 2.2-litre diesel engine, it is in fantastic condition with absolutely no rust and has only 48000 genuine and traceable miles on the clock with full service history. Only 1 previous owner with MOT valid until October 2021, but we will MOT it for the new owner before delivery.
Post strip down the van was fully lined with NoiCo acoustic matting before a solid layer of Dodo Super Lining thermal insulation was added, all void spaces have also been filled with fireproof thermal wool. This has made the van cooler in the Summer and cosy in the Winter with a very low noise signature inside. The integrated storage shelf above the drivers cab, which is an excellent spot to store all the blackout screens (included) as well as coats and waterproofs has also been fully lined with a handmade curtain screening it off. The ceiling is fully lined with extra thin pine planking and a lightweight faux Beech laminate floor completes the living area enabling the vehicle’s weight to have been kept extremely light. Clever use of insulation and cut away areas has enabled us to put the double bed in from side to side, making the living area extra-large.

Inside the van are 2 large work surfaces with cleverly designed storage below, the front seats are both comfortable Captain’s chairs that rotate into the living area, a permanent double bed with a significant garage storage area below. A handmade step with door matt top enables easy entrance to the vehicle plus can be used as a footrest for the Captain’s chairs and finally at night is a useful step up onto the bed.

There is a fully integrated electrical system in the van with some of the main features being a 250W solar panel & Sterling Power charge relay, four 240v outlets with integrated USB points, ceiling mounted led lights, dimmable led strip lighting, extra USB/USB C outlets, intelligent battery monitor, and a 60L fridge / freezer.

Charlie van has a portable double gas burner, housed in a bespoke drawer which can be used on the work surface inside and also for outdoor cooking. Heating is provided by a diesel powered 60 KW hot air heater, connected directly to the vehicle’s fuel tank, programable and with remote control making this a truly 4 season camper. The conversion also features a MaxiFlow Premium roof vent with an extractor fan that can be operated in both directions to draw air into or out of the campervan, with a blackout blind. There is also oversized deep stainless-steel sink and flexi hose tap fed by an electric water pump, as well as internal fresh water and grey water tanks.

A top of the range AirHead compostable toilet is hidden under the bed and can be used inside the main living area, the Airhead removes all the issues associated with cassette toilets while providing all the flexibility of an in van proper toilet. Up on the roof is a high pressure 4L RoadShower containing 37 litres of water which is heated and enables showering outside of the van, meaning none of the issues associated with leaking shower units will affect this van. Fitted roof bars enable carriage of bikes or paddle boards and a roof top solar panel feeds the 2 leisure batteries on a near constant trickle top up. Outdoor table, 2 comfy collapsible armchairs and telescopic roof access ladder are included.

The van has been designed and built to a high spec to maximise use, practicality and comfort.

This conversion comes with an up-to-date gas certification, electrical sign-off, and has been weighed since completion.
