Vehicle Description

For sale – our self converted 2010 VW SWB Transporter with barn doors, a pop top & a tow bar. This is a reluctant sale for me but we only managed to get away once in the summer as the kids are now getting older.

We bought this van in 2020 and it already had the pop top and carpet lining. We then fitted it out ourselves using a chipboard bed base for the pop top, new ply panels which I [ainted white to create a lighter, more ‘apartment feel’ & bespoke commissioned birch ply furniture. This van isn’t fully insulated as only used for summer camping trips. The pop top also has a small rip close to the hinges. There are a few dents and scratches to the body of the van, as to be expected of an old panel van.

The van has two front passenger seats and there are fittings to attach an official VW rear seat with integrated seat belt. These fittings were put in by ourselves and are sold as seen. We use the seat and never have any problems. The seat is included in the sale, or we can take £500 off the sale price if you’d prefer not to take it. The seat is very similar to this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/326780250883?chn=ps&_ul=GB&mkevt=1&mkcid=28&google_free_listing_action=view_item

The van doesnt have a leisure battery, we just use a large 500 watt hour battery pack (not included in sale) to recharge phones, computers, lights etc. When we are camping we use a gas powered two ring hob, or an electric hob if we have a hook up. There is a multirail installed on the side and we will include the awining we have in the sale – it’s huge, you can see it in the photos.

There is a chipboard base installed with vinyl plank flooring over the top. We then have a birch ply slide out kitchen unit which can be accessed from inside on rainy days. We mostly choose to cook outside hence the design. There is a full width bed which a slide out drawer at the back, the ned is shorter on one side as seen in phtos – this gap is the exact size for a Yeti cooler as we were going to use that to make up the final section of the bed but never needed to. When the rear passenger seat is installed for travelling, there is section of furniture for this bed which is easily removed and stowed on top of the other seat/bed section. When we camp we always take this extra seat out and store under a tarp or in small tent.

We will include the white mattresses in the sale but not the other soft furnishings (floor cushions & scatter cushions). There is no mattress in the pop top as we use x 3 of the floor cushions.

The van comes with a Fiamma bike rack for two bikes on the barn door. We also have a tow bar bike rack for 4 bikes which we are happy to sell on for an extra £60.

Mechanically the van has had the below done, it sometimes flashes up engine warning lights for sensors with low voltage to certain things but we have been told it’s just a loose wiring cage common in Transporters, especially of this age. We have a bluetooth Carista diagnosis dongle and we clear any faults like this – we are happy to include this with the sale. It has been serviced every year since purchase.

Any questions let me know!

thanks
