Brilliant little van. This van has done me and my girlfriend very well, I wouldn’t say its a full converted camper but its very close. It has VERY LOW MILEAGE which is perfect for someone wanting to get their use out of it. It currently has no electrics (all come with but not connected up), gas or water but can easily be installed to finish it off. Only selling in preparation to emigrate to another country and cannot take my van with me!!
VEHICLE:
– 1 Previous owner apart from me, as told by the dealership I purchased from.
– Was an old man who was a part time painter (reason for low milage) .
– 31K MILES, 2009.
– Diesel, Manual, 6 speed gear box.
– Body work in good condition for age. couple of scratches about but nothing major.
– Full service history, 4 services due to low milage.
– 11 months MOT, 06/10/22.
– 3 NEW INJECTORS + Fuel filter 04/09/20.
– 1 NEW INJECTOR about 6 months previous. Lost receipt.
– EGR valve + Air mass meter 09/10/20.
THE AWKWARD BITS:
– Advisory on the MOT that came up “Brake disk worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened front (both)
– Minor defect “windscreen damaged but not adversely affecting drivers view offside (scratched)
CONVERSION:
The van is fully insulated with a mix of reflective bubblewrap, roof insulation and thick foam boards all behind the wooden cladding and floor. The cladding has been treated with 3 coats of wood oil. I fully intended on setting up with power but then never got around to it in the end. This means that the van comes with a 110ah leisure battery, split charge relay (in one piece), inverter and plug sockets but they are just all yet to be connected and installed. The lighting around the van is currently all battery powered which was fine for weekends away with my girlfriend.
FURNITURE:
– Bed: The bed is a ply sheet supported by the two wheel arches and a middle pine block, this is all removable. Underneath is all storage space that can be accessed from both sides.
– Cupboards: The cupboard is secured down to the ply floor at each corner. It is painted white and comes with 3 draws and 3 cupboards. Things in the cupboard that are included are; beach games, pots/pans, cooking utensils, rations, electric heater and cutlery. This does NOT come with a portable gas cooker, we did use one when travelling about but unfortunately that is something that we are keeping for now.
THE AWKWARD BITS:
– NO power/water/gas. As stated above the van comes with leisure battery, inverter, split charge relay and plugs but none are connected up yet. This job wouldn’t be too big for the van to have full power. Gas and water is another job that could be done if longer trips are your thing.
– Van floor at the minute is just the ply that it came with, I have put on there a layer of sticky wooden effect wallpaper which has/is very scratch-able. This is easily hidden with a rug but proper lyno could be installed at a low cost.
– NOT as finished as I would have liked. I would have carried on with this van and converted into a full on camper but me and my girlfriend are emigrating and unfortunately I cannot take my beloved van. Because of the LOW MILEAGE this van is going to be a very good project for someone to finish off.
– 1 Bed across the back of the van by the double doors.
– Sleeps 1 comfortably, 2 is cosy.
– Comes with memory foam mattress, duvet, 2 pillows and 2 cushions.
– Ply bottom and pine middle support are both removable.
