Volkswagen Transporter T6 Highline TDI, T28
2 litre diesel engine, 6 gears, cruise control, A/C, sat nav, CD player, DAB, heated windscreen and mirrors make for easy driving. It has two captain chairs up front, with folding arm rests, making it very comfortable for long drives. Passenger driving chair will swivel round to face the rear.
In the back there is a super wide Rib bench/bed. This bench seat is wide enough to fit three children’s car seats, two of which can be anchored to iso-fix points. This is a rare set-up, but extremely practical, and leaves plenty of space for cupboard storage and pull out drawer beneath the seat bench.
On the back, there is a bike rack that will fit 4 adult bikes. The frame clamps on the rack no longer change size, as the mechanism has worn out, however they still grip a bike frame and it hasn’t stopped us from taking the bikes many places. These clamps can be replaced if needed…I’ve simply not found it necessary.
Pop top roof – This is a rear hinge style pop-top roof from Austop, with a bed and mattress. The canvas is clean, mould free with no tears. It also has zip down mosquito panels if you need some ventilation.
Pop-top thermal wrap – The van will come with a custom fitted thermal wrap for the pop top canvas. This simply wraps round the pop-top, securing at the back, making the van suitable for year-round trips. It also blocks the sunlight in the morning, meaning the kids don’t wake up too early!
Awning – a fully extendable awning provides a bit of shelter from rain, or sun, increasing the living space.
Table – the sliding door conceals a pop-out table. The table will also fit inside the van, if it’s too wet outside.
Rib Bench/Bed – Rear bench folds down, for a wide double bed. The van will come with a custom fit roll down mattress for extra comfort.
5th bed – I’m including a packable stretcher bed, that fits across the driver and passenger window sills, providing a great extra sleeping location for a little one.
Black-out Blinds – There are black out blinds throughout. All are fully functional, and very effective. It also comes with a fitted wrap for the front windscreen, making it completely private inside.
Insulation – the van is fully insulated for heat and sound, making for a very cosy and quiet night’s sleep
Facilities:
Cooker – two hob gas burner. One auto-spark lighter no longer works….but a match does the job just fine
Fridge – full working order, with frost box at the top
Sink – stainless steel, and drains to an outflow pipe underneath
Tap – cold water pumped from a tank slung underneath the chassis. Pump works fine, powered from the leisure battery.
Worktop – Corian black worktop. Very hard wearing and heat resistant.
Cupboards – great storage throughout, see the pictures.
Lighting – internal 12v LED system in the ceiling and skirting round the fridge. There are also reading lights up and downstairs.
Heating – Webasto diesel parking heater, with a digital control unit. Use this to set a temperature on the thermostat, or set a timer to have the van warm-up in the morning!
Gas box in the rear for standard camping gas
Floormats & carpet – Removable floormats front and rear, help keep the van tidy.
Leisure battery with voltmeter – Leisure battery powerful enough to power the lights, fridge and heater. Battery will recharge automatically when the van is driven but can also take a charge from a mains source.
Electrical Hook-up – Hook-up to power from a campsite connection or a home supply. I will provide an extension cable and adapter.
12v USB power sockets for charging phones, mp3 players etc
2x 240V 3 pin sockets – run any appliance from these, providing you are hooked up to the mains. Useful for a laptop, hairdryer, or a George Foreman grill.
Carbon Monoxide sensor also included
double bed downstairs, suitable for 2 adults. Pop top bed suitable for 2 kids or one adult. Also included is a stretcher bed, for the front window sills, making for a great little 5th bed for another child.
