Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

With a heavy heart, it’s probably the right time to find the next owner for this pretty special vehicle.

We (STITCHES + STEEL) needed to find the best solution to move our entire warehouse of stock to our, new bigger setup and the solution came in the form of this thing. A LWB single cab 2018 Vw crafter with a big-arse box on the back. We could have found something a bit crapper but this crafter popped up and looked wild enough for us to tick two boxes. The plan evolved into it earning its keep doing some real work, then we’d allow it a cushy retirement as we converted it into our events + PR wagon as it just looked so cool.

We loved the silhouette and size of it and by the time we’d fitted ABS Arch trims on the arches, S+S Decals pack on the doors along with a new set of our 18′ steel wheels with a fresh set of Falken Wildpeak tyres, and painted the box with a few coats of dark-Anthracite, we were in agreement we’d got ourselves a pretty legit warehouse hauler with an untold amount of potential to turn into our events truck.

Perhaps a slightly off-piste theory, but this van had been owned by an old furniture maker who fitted it with a much larger coach built rear body from new. And while this crafter is a one owner van, it had been put to use with a wild amount of, but well-looked-after miles clocked up going up and down the country over a 5 year period. Why we bought it, is the previous owner decided when it was time to sell, he wanted to go through the whole van along with having the drive train overhauled. We have an £11,000 bill for a full engine and gearbox rebuild along with an untold amount of service parts being fitted and while the 300k miles on the clock sounds slightly terrifying, after it being used by us weekly to do a 200 mile round trip over the last 3 months, we can claim with conviction, that it feels identical to the 50k mile crafter we have here in regards to how it drives. IT’s just flown through an MOT and while we’re confident the drivetrain feels fresh, and cabin also feels good, clean and is a nice place to sit, the sheer miles the van have traveled are perhaps, and unusually, not the right metric to be judging this machine on after the very comprehensive overhaul.

Our plans were to do the warehouse runs in it, then cut a hole in the side, bar, beer taps, set of steps in the back and bar / shop vibe etc for our business. It’s presentable and looks professional enough to easily be this. The other idea which has been quite hard to shake, is that it does reek of the ultimate crafter overland conversion. The size of the box, the way it looks and the fact it feels fresh and reliable (you’d drive it to Morocco without hesitation) have all been good reasons for us to keep it but as hard as it is, we’re trying to find some sense and have regrettably agreed that it’s probably best we focus on our day jobs at S+S rather than get properly distracted by this project.

To summerise

Killer looking, new shape Crafter that looks + Functions pretty damn well for the miles on the clock.
Fresh engine + Gearbox. Should be good for another 150k miles before any major work.
Brand new S+S seat covers, wheels, tyres, windscreen cover, goodies etc.
Fresh MOT
Prime for conversion into the ultimate camper / PR bus.
Can drive on normal licence
Not terrifying to drive, sips fuel, feels great cruising at speed.

£14,995 Ono NO VAT.
Can get a little creative on price if we keep the wheels…
New owner gets a legit raid of the S+S warehouse for some S+S products.
Happy to PX against a T6.1

Please whatapp 07496655227 for a walk round video and feel free to ask any questions / come prod it / drink coffee / drive it etc.

To stress, please don’t confuse this with an Essex ‘Car-dealer’ clapped-out-geezer van. It is great and is a legit gem. We will miss it.
It is genuinely good.
