After a fallow year in 2026, Worthy Farm will reopen its gates for Glastonbury Festival 2027 from Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June 2027.

Five days of music, wandering, dancing, discovering stages you didn’t know existed and somehow walking approximately 400 miles before breakfast.

And at the end of it all?

You could crawl into a tent.

Or you could head back to a warm, dry campervan, put the kettle on and climb into an actual bed.

We know which one we’d choose.

Taking a campervan to Glastonbury gives you all the joy of Festival life with a few extremely welcome home comforts. But there are some important rules to get your head around first, from campervan passes and pitch sizes to off-grid power and special restrictions around hire vehicles being delivered to the Festival.

So, whether this is your first Glastonbury or you know Worthy Farm better than your local park, here’s everything you need to know about taking a campervan to Glastonbury Festival 2027.

Glastonbury Festival 2027: Key Dates and Prices

Campervan tickets will go on sale later in autumn 2026. At the time of writing, Glastonbury has not announced the exact campervan accommodation sale date.

Everyone aged 13 or over who wants to attend must have their own Festival registration number before trying to buy a ticket. Registration closes at 5pm BST on Friday 25 September 2026 ahead of the October ticket sales.

Can You Take a Campervan to Glastonbury?

Yes, absolutely.

Glastonbury has dedicated campervan and caravan fields, giving you somewhere to park your rolling home for the Festival.

But your normal Festival ticket doesn’t include a campervan pitch.

You’ll need:

• A general admission Glastonbury Festival ticket for everyone in your group who requires one
• One separate campervan/caravan ticket for your vehicle

Every person staying in the campervan needs a valid weekend Festival ticket.

And there’s one particularly important thing to know:

You cannot buy a campervan ticket if you have booked a ticket + coach travel package. Campervan passes are only available to general admission ticket holders.

So if campervan life is part of your Glastonbury master plan, make sure everyone in your group knows that before ticket day.

How Much Is a Campervan Pass for Glastonbury 2027?

Which Glastonbury Campervan Field Should You Choose?

There are four main types of campervan pitch for 2027.

East Quiet Campervans / Hired, Delivered Vehicle Pitches, Blue Route

Pitch size: up to 8m x 7m
Vehicle: up to 8m long
Price: £225

This is the quieter of the East campervan areas and is described by Glastonbury as particularly suitable for families, people with access issues and anyone looking for a field with fewer pitches.

It’s also the East field used for eligible hired campervans and caravans that are being delivered to the Festival.

East General Campervans, Blue Route

Pitch size: up to 8m x 7m
Vehicle: up to 8m long
Price: £225

This is the main East campervan area.

If you want to stay on the east side of the Festival and your campervan is under 8 metres long, this is likely to be the option you’ll be looking at.

Bath & West Campervans, Regular Pitch, White Route

Pitch size: up to 8m x 7m
Vehicle: up to 8m long
Price: £225

These campervan pitches are at the Bath & West Showground rather than beside the main Festival site.

A free 24-hour shuttle bus runs between Bath & West and the Festival site.

Bath & West Campervans, Large Pitch, White Route

Pitch size: up to 16m x 7m
Price: £350

Got a beast of a campervan?

This is the one.

Vehicles over 8 metres long need a large Bath & West pitch. Oversized campervans cannot use the East campervan areas.

Check your campervan’s dimensions before buying your pitch. Guessing that your van is “probably about seven-ish metres” is not the kind of suspense you need at the Glastonbury gate.

Hiring a Campervan for Glastonbury? Read This Bit

This is where things can get confusing.

There’s an important difference between:

1. Hiring a campervan, collecting it and driving it to Glastonbury yourself

and

2. Hiring a campervan that a company delivers to Glastonbury ready for you

The second option comes with extra Festival rules.

Glastonbury’s Delivered Hire Vehicle Rules

Hire campervans or caravans can only be pre-delivered to the East Campervan fields by prior agreement with Glastonbury before the Festival opens.

A hire vehicle over 8 metres long will be refused access to East.

Vehicles over 8 metres must use Bath & West, and Glastonbury states there is no pre-delivery to Bath & West before normal campervan access opens.

In other words, if a campervan company is promising to have your vehicle sitting at Glastonbury waiting for you, make sure they know the Festival’s rules and have arranged the correct access.

Just make sure the campervan you choose is festival-friendly, check its collection location and confirm it meets the size requirements for the Glastonbury pitch you’re planning to buy.

What Counts as a Campervan at Glastonbury?

Not everything with four wheels and a sleeping bag counts.

Glastonbury only allows genuine campervans or caravans with fitted sleeping, cooking and/or washing facilities into the official campervan fields.

Festival staff check vehicles on arrival, and unsuitable or unconverted vans can be refused entry and redirected to the normal car parks.

And you cannot simply sleep in your vehicle there instead. Sleeping in vehicles in Glastonbury’s regular car parks is prohibited.

So no, chucking a mattress and camping stove into the back of a panel van on Monday night does not quite make it a campervan.

Nice try, though.

Is There Electric Hook-Up at Glastonbury?

No.

There is no electricity provided to campervan field users at Glastonbury.

And generators aren’t the solution either.

Generators aren’t permitted in the campervan fields, so your van needs to be comfortable off-grid for the duration of your stay.

Depending on the campervan, that could mean:

• Solar panels
• Leisure batteries
• USB charging
• 12V electrics
• Portable power banks
• Sensible power use

And when you collect it, ask the owner how the power system works and which appliances are particularly thirsty.

Your Glastonbury morning should begin with coffee, not an investigation into why somebody charging three phones has murdered the leisure battery overnight.

Is There Water in the Glastonbury Campervan Fields?

Yes.

This is one piece of older advice worth correcting.

You do not need to bring enough drinking water for the entire Festival because water is available in the campervan fields.

Official campervan field facilities include:

• Water
• Waste-water containers
• Toilets
• A 24-hour food trader

What you won’t get is a fully serviced campsite pitch with your own water tap beside the van.

If your campervan has an onboard water tank, arriving with a sensible amount of water already onboard will make life easier, particularly for cooking and washing.

Bring a reusable drinking bottle too. There are water refill points across the wider Festival site.

And remember, waste water needs to go into the proper waste-water containers rather than being emptied onto the ground.

Are There Showers in the Campervan Fields?

Showers aren’t listed among the standard facilities provided in the general campervan fields.

So if being able to wash away a full day of Glastonbury is important to you, look for a campervan with an onboard shower when choosing your van.

It can sound like an outrageous luxury before the Festival.

At midnight on Saturday, when your feet have travelled approximately the distance between Somerset and Belgium and you’re wearing half of Worthy Farm on your legs, it feels like genius.

The Pros and Cons of Taking a Campervan to Glastonbury

The Pros

An actual bed

There are few things more glorious than climbing into a proper mattress after spending 14 hours exploring the Festival.

Somewhere warm and dry

Whatever the Somerset weather decides to throw at you, you’ve got a roof.

Dry clothes can stay dry

We cannot overstate the importance of this.

Your own kitchen

Late-night snacks. Morning coffee. Emergency toast.

Beautiful.

A fridge

Very handy for breakfast supplies, milk and cold drinks.

Your own toilet or shower

Depending on the campervan you choose, you can take your home comforts rather seriously.

Lockable storage

Leave spare clothes and kit behind while you head into the Festival.

Off-grid power

With the right campervan, leisure batteries and solar can help keep your phones and lights going without hook-up.

A little oasis of calm

Glastonbury is enormous and brilliantly full-on.

Sometimes closing the campervan door and having half an hour somewhere quiet is exactly what you need.

The Cons

It costs more

You’ll need to factor in campervan hire plus the £225 or £350 pitch on top of your Festival ticket.

You’re not camping right in the middle of the Festival

You’ll need to walk from the East campervan fields or use the shuttle if you’re staying at Bath & West.

Campervan passes are limited

Securing the main ticket is only challenge number one.

There’s no electric hook-up

Your campervan needs to cope with several days off-grid.

You need to plan ahead

Pitch sizes, routes, tickets and arrival times are all worth sorting before you go.

But when it’s hammering with rain at 2am and you’re tucked under a duvet in a dry campervan?

Those cons suddenly look rather small.

When Can Campervans Arrive at Glastonbury 2027?

First campervan entry for the 2027 Festival is from 12 noon on Tuesday 22 June.

And Glastonbury is very clear about the “noon” bit.

There is no facility to queue before the campervan fields open, and vehicles arriving before noon may be turned away.

So arriving at 7am armed with optimism and a flask will not secure you the finest pitch in Somerset.

Once you’re approaching the Festival, follow the route associated with your campervan pass.

East Quiet and East General: Blue Route

Bath & West: White Route

Follow Festival signage when you get close rather than assuming your sat nav knows something the traffic management team doesn’t.

And keep snacks somewhere accessible.

This is important travel advice in almost every situation, to be fair.

Can You Park Next to Friends?

You can, but you need to arrive together.

Campervan pitches are allocated by stewards on a first come, first served basis, and specific pitches cannot be reserved.

So if you’re travelling in a group and want your campervans beside each other:

• Buy passes for the same campervan area
• Arrange to meet before entering the Festival traffic system
• Drive in together

You cannot arrive first and save the pitch next door for your friends.

No matter how convincing your collection of camping chairs marking the territory looks.

Can You Put an Awning or Tent Next to Your Campervan?

Manufacturer-made awnings are permitted provided they fit within the pitch and the correct fire-safety spacing can be maintained.

Glastonbury requires suitable space between your setup and neighbouring vehicles.

A small additional tent may also be allowed where space is available and stewards can position it safely.

Essentially, your pitch isn’t an invitation to build Glastonbury’s newest suburb.

Listen to the stewards, keep fire lanes completely clear and be considerate of your neighbours.

Glastonbury Campervan Packing List

One of the joys of taking a campervan is avoiding the traditional Glastonbury experience of dragging your entire worldly possessions through several fields.

But that doesn’t mean you need to fill every cupboard.

Remember, there’s no hook-up and generators aren’t allowed.

There is drinking water available at the Festival, so you don’t need to transport a week’s supply across Somerset.

Food

First, check what’s already supplied with your campervan.

Many hire vans come with cooking equipment, crockery and utensils, and bringing four extra saucepans that live untouched under the bed all weekend rather defeats the point.

We’d pack:

• Easy breakfasts
• Tea and coffee
• Quick meals
• Fruit
• Plenty of snacks
• Drinks in non-glass containers
• Reusable food tubs
• A few late-night treats

There is incredible food all over Glastonbury.

But being able to wake up, put the kettle on and eat breakfast in your pyjamas remains one of campervan life’s greatest achievements.

Clothes

Pack for every possible version of June.

Possibly all in one afternoon.

You’ll want:

• Comfortable walking shoes
• Wellies or waterproof footwear
• Warm layers
• Extra socks
• Hat
• Sunglasses
• Sun cream
• Comfy clothes for hanging around the van

Lock Your Campervan

Glastonbury generally has a wonderful atmosphere, but it’s still sensible to lock your campervan whenever you leave it.

What Happens When You Leave Glastonbury?

The traffic plan changes towards the end of the Festival.

For East Campervans, the Blue Route becomes one-way outbound from 2pm on Sunday 27 June until around 9pm on Monday 28 June.

During this period, vehicles cannot access the East campervan fields.

So don’t drive out on Sunday afternoon assuming you’ll simply nip back later.

Before heading home:

• Pack as much as possible beforehand
• Clear everything from your pitch
• Dispose of rubbish and recycling properly
• Empty waste water in the designated facilities
• Check beneath the van for abandoned possessions
• Make sure whoever is driving is properly rested

Then join the great Glastonbury migration home.

What If Glastonbury Campervan Passes Sell Out?

Don’t panic.

But also don’t turn up and park your campervan in a normal Glastonbury car park.

Sleeping in vehicles in the Festival car parks is strictly prohibited.

Instead, look for an off-site campervan campsite around Glastonbury and arrange transport between the campsite and Festival.

Facilities, prices and transport arrangements vary, so always check the individual campsite’s latest information before booking.

Your Plan A may have disappeared.

Glastonbury 2027 Ticket Sale Tips

Before any campervan plotting can really begin, you need the golden ticket.

For 2027, general admission tickets go on sale at 9am BST on Sunday 4 October 2026, while ticket + coach packages go on sale at 6pm BST on Thursday 1 October.

A few things to sort in advance:

• Check your Festival registration
• Make sure everyone in your group aged 13+ is registered
• Have everyone’s registration number and registered postcode ready
• Remember you can book for up to six people in one transaction
• Have payment details ready
• Make sure you’ll be able to complete any banking authentication required

And remember, if you’re planning to take a campervan, you’ll need general admission tickets rather than ticket + coach packages.

Once the main Festival tickets are secured, you can turn your attention to getting a campervan pitch when accommodation sales open later in autumn.

Then, and only then, may you begin celebrating wildly.
